*shakes off a feeling of extreme discomfort*
Why do ex-girlfriends bother in maintaining Facebook profiles?

Just checked her most recent Wall post. She said something to the effect of "Why can't people just tell you what the hell their problem is with you?"
Funny, I never hesitated to do just that. Guess she wasn't looking for honesty back then.

    Man am I stupid...

Anyone care to berate me or share similar stories?

Ignore her, and dump her as a "friend".

    Problem solved.

I won't berate you since everyone gets curious, but checking out a recent EX's Facebook wall is looking for trouble. Some girls just like to bask in sympathy for a while, and yes, some will lie to get it.

To be honest, it looks like you got off lightly.

Someone should makes a site called passiveaggresivewallposts.com.

Seriously, Facebook is the worst place to talk about your feelings.

Why do you stalk your ex-girlfriend on Facebook would be a better question.

This. They're an ex for a reason. I've never remained friends with any of my ex's and would never be friends with them on facebook or any other social networking site.

This thread should be called, "I'm a creepy ex-stalker on Facebook, and I think every comment made by her is about me."

This times 1000. Honestly, once you break up and call it a relationship, sever all bonds. Deleter her from friends list, nuke her speed dial on your phone.

I think the piece of context missing here is that some folks that try to facebook-friend you from high school are, honestly, just not very interesting, and you may be reluctant to friend them simply due to the fact that you aren't really interested in their lives. In this case, you usually do run out of conversation pretty quick.

There are a few folks in my batch of FB friends where, once they're done talking about how awesome doing X-and-Y thing in high school was, I'm secretly thinking shut up shut up shut up how the fuck do I get out of this conversation goddammit...

I don't know about that...I mean, I'm somewhat curious to see what my former classmates have been up to since the last time I saw them (10 years ago).

...then you must either have very interesting friends, or you're simply nicer than some of us. I'll admit that there are a few fb friends I know from high school that I stay friends with simply to see their fucking stupid status updates.

Thats the thing, though; these peeps seem to not have a life after highschool, they just want to keep reminiscing about the old school days.

It's a combination of both. I don't really hold grudges, especially 10 to 20-year ones.

Don't get me wrong, it's not like I'm trying to be best friends with everyone, but it's still nice to get in touch with old classmates. Some of the people that you despised in HS change for the better and you realize that you have more in common with them now than before.

Though with certain situations, it is kind of interesting to see what an Ex might say on a site like MySpace/Facebook/Reddit, etc, about you; especially if we are talking a long term relationship/marriage, like 10+ years.

While I tease, I do admit that I have sort of the opposite thing going on. I have an ex as a friend that pretty much made the past 3 years a very painful experience. Now that I'm in a relationship with a girl that I see myself actually marrying and having kids with, I get a sick sense of satisfaction knowing that she may be seeing all my posted pics and such showing how happy I am without her. It's a tad perverse, but that bitch deserves it.
