It does have "co-op" but it's pretty lame. Whatever you do in your friend's world, you don't get 100% of anything, and whatever he unlocks, you have to go back and do it again yourself in your own game. The only things you can take with you are items and gold. Also with the 2 players being on screen it severely limits your camera angles and doesn't allow for much free roaming of either you or your friend. There goes my idea of pulling on on a buddy of mine and popping in on his game and knocking up his wife while he's not around. Cruel!
Wow, the co-op being complete crap really shot my hopes down with this game. Oh well I'm only 43% done with Saints Row 2.
It hasn't affected me one way or the other. I'm really enjoying it, and the fighting has been tweaked and feels better than the first one.
Enjoying the game so far. My biggest complaint is how easy it is to "bad". I've unintentionally scared the shit outta so many villagers so far that I felt I was too corrupted to go good again. A few hours into the game my sexy lady sparrow is bald, with large horns and darkened skin erupting with red runes.
LOL, I agree that it's too easy to accidentally whip out your sword or cast an attack spell and frighten people when you don't intend to. I nearly baked my wife and kid on there when I was simply trying to back out of a menu screen. Other than that and the lame co-op play, I'm loving it so far too.
This. I always thought it was kind of BS, my character having a span in the game of being around for about 5 years, and aging from 16 to 108.
The aging thing bothere me at first, but then I pretty much realised I always wear helmets and it didn't really matter. So far fable 2 seems fun and addicting. I played about 4 hours total and spend about 3 of that doing unecessary side- it's all fun to and nice they have so much for you to do.
I've been getting married over and over, and sacrificing my spouse's to the Temple of Shadows Waiting for one of my kids to grow up (if they do) so that I may try sacrificing them as well!
Played Fable 2 for a bit and reached the end of the child stage. Not very impressed by it though. The controls are clunky and the sound is the most horrible I've EVER heard in a game. At the start menu it botched up "And so begins our hero's journey", and after that it just kept getting worse (music was on a very low volume in the pausescreen, city noises were very off, VAing didn't match up with the subtitles (might have to turn those off after all), and the VAing is just as corny and forced as in the first one). And what's up with the plot? SPOILERS: He/she's kicked out of a window and then just goes with that woman for no good reason and stay with her for 10 years? Are you kidding me? The first one had better exposition then this! End spoilers I'll play it for a bit longer, and if it doesn't get better I'll trade it in for either a preorder of Fallout 3 or a copy of Farcry 2...
Let's just hope they change co-op mode from now until Christmas or there will be a lot of unhappy fans and a lot of people with empty pockets at Lionhead Studios.
I can't agree with your complaints about the controls or sound. Definitely play it more. I think the VA is great, perfectly suitable for a game which is essentially trying to be a virtual fairytale/storybook. The music is also fitting and I don't really have issues with the volume. However, when she says "and so begins..." was a little out of place and abrupt. The controls feel solid to, but you should do some real combat and exploring before making that call- you pretty much just walk around, fart, and talk to people as a kid. As far as the story goes, well, it makes a huge leap there but it isn't exactly hard to believe that a poor kid would happily move in with a woman who wants to take care of him. My only complaints so far is that it seems to only allow for one save file per live account, and the camera work with co-op is kinda wanky.
Especially when the woman basically saves you and offers you the world. My only complaint is effing online Achievements!
