I have no idea. They showed up in an auction I won recently. What are the differences?

I am asking as they really dont look like the mirage boxes ones I have seen in terms of design? I think he used to sell them like $15 each or something? Does he still not have a site as I do see him sell on Ebay?

Hi, it may be an early one by Mirages boxes, I never saw any of their boxes up until about 3 years ago. From then on, all the ones I saw were styled akin to actual G1 boxes, accurate grid pattern, character art, boxflap at top etc.

Closest example I can find is the WST Hot Rod:

Mirages boxes were similar in style, but with a window and bubble.

I've got a WST Sideswipe in one of their boxes I'll try to locate and post a pic of.

EDIT: Here's a better example of his style of boxes (saves me trying to find Sideswipe :)  ):

I'd suggest emailing him through Ebay to check his original price, also if they're his work or not.

I went to his site, and it seems he is taking a break due to a new baby, his whole site is down link

I've done buisness with him many times, he's done a few requests for me, great guy.

His small custom boxes have looked like the one in the WST auction above for as long as I can remember, but I can't say those aren't his, it's possible, of course.

I have his email buried somewhere, I'll see if I can dig it up, though, you could just contact him through ebay.

Thanks for the input guys. I went ahead and messaged mirages_boxes through eBay. Will report back when I hear from him. :)

Well now I have a bit of a mystery on my hand's: He replied saying they're not his.

I didn't know anyone else made custom boxes.

I've seen a few (non Mirages) custom boxes on ebay over the years, usually they're one someone has made for themselves. I'm not aware of anyone else mass producing boxes. Might be tricky to find it's origin, unless someone else here recognises it.

    Good luck with your auctions.

Yeah, as not to misrepresent anyone, I changed the auctions immediately. Now they're boxes with "unknown origin"

Maybe the seller who sold you this made his own custom boxes? He does have ALOT of different g1 custom boxes.
