I dont know about you, but I think that Bay has also an obsession about the F-22 and how they dont help the autobots at all by getting blown up in the air.
The question is How many destroyed F-22 could u tell in all the trilogy?

I don't remember any being shot down in ROTF and we can't be sure if those were F-22s being shot down by con ships in DOTM.

    Oh yeah, that's true.

My point still stands on DOTM though.

Occam's Razor. The F-22s blew up because Decepticon warships shot them out of the sky. That's 'cause. I think you may be overanalyzing things here. Bay likes the military. He likes explosions. The F-22 is an awesome air weapon, but in order to show the "siege of Chicago", it was necessary for some 'Con ships to blow the Air Force away in that scene (whatever type of aircraft they were).

Plus, if you think there's some sort of agenda against F-22s because of this, then why not some sort of agenda with V-22s? Or UAVs? Or whatever-the-hell-else air force vehicles he blows up and/or shoots "AMERICA, F**K YEAH!"-missiles. F-22s helped take down Megatron. F-22s helped lead the assault in RotF. They helped just as much as they were destroyed.

The F-22 is the main air fighter of the US armed forces, and the movies only cover a time period of maybe 6 years. It's insane to expect them to develop, test, and mass-produce a next-generaion F-series fighter in that short a time frame.

That's debatable. The F-22 has been plagued with problems ranging from the radar, avionics, and the oxygen system within the aircraft. The pilots don't like plane as it's just problematic and riddled with issues. Plus, the cost for each unit has effectively killed the F-22...there's 187 planes in the US Air Force fleet with no more plans to add more.

The F-22 is utilized in a supplemental role to the current mainstay air superiority fighter, the F-15C. F-15Cs have been getting radar upgrades to modernize them as by now they're about 30 years old.

True. But F-22s were also shot down, its a extremely brief scene when the ospreys are flying into Chicago.

Figures Starscream ended up picking the wrong airplane to disguise as. Shoulda just stuck with the Classic F-15 series, Screamer.

Also, let's not forget the military's active involvement in these movies. I'm sure they had a say in what planes were used in the films.

Here's the split second shot of some F-22s being shot down. It's roughly at the 1 hr: 50 min: 08 sec mark of the movie.
