    ....

And if this turns out to be more robot action, I will scream to the heavens. And wait for someone to pirate the IMAX version.

In all likelihood the extra scenes will end up on some extended cut released down the road, to milk more of our money of course.

So will you guys be getting the 2disc (or hd-dvd) anyway? And also get the extended version, whenever that comes out? Right now I can't wait to see the imax version!

Dammit. I hate when they do this crap for DVD releases. Bad enough there's going to be two different releases right off the bat (not counting HD), but this just guarantees that they'll be releasing AT LEAST one more version down the road.:(

Already there is at least 4 versions (box types) I've heard of of the DVD release.
Of course there will be an extended DVD... What a crock. It'll be TF 1.5. Or the Transformed Edition... somethin'

I am thinkin' of seeing the IMAX version of this though. Should be fun.

Until proven otherwise, I'm holding to my opinion that the extra footage is nothing more than more screen time for Maggie. Not good enough of an enticement for me to see the film on "too big to process" IMAX.

Good thing I'll be seeing the IMAX version this Saturday. The only time I'll get to see the new footage. It's probably just people stuff, though.

It's probably two more minutes of the stupid "happy time" scene.

:lolol  Better not buy any version until we know for sure then. :p

Well this gives some people more motivation to sneak a camera in there.

QFT! I think it's funny that the director thinks he has enough clout to stop the studio from releasing this stuff on any DVD release. You know that right before 2 comes out there will be a new extra loaded DVD release of part 1, and will probably have a movie ticket for the sequel.

no biggie for me! whats 2 minutes? not enough to really alter any single scene enough to warrant the waiting of anothe rrelease or care about the IMAX version.

And I am sorry, but he dosent control the dvd releases. So who is he to say what version will be released when?

Bay either means it or he doesn't. Either way, I'm not buying Transformers until the next, or next-next release. I never buy a DVD the first time it comes out. I'm in no rush to see a movie I've already seen (I can always rent or borrow if I'm dying to see a movie on DVD), and if it turns out that a re-release never happens, I have no problem with buying a DVD 2 or 3 years after it has come out.

In the case of Transformers, I have no compunction about buying the DVD edition that comes out right alongside Transformers 2. (I have this attitude towards all my DVD purchases, and it never fails me)

He's doing two bits of marketting on us. One stating that the DVD will not have the footage, so we pay to go see it on IMAX (and he hasn't said what is or isn't in the 2 minutes) so it's definitely not robots, because he knows that if he says it's not, fewer people will go see it. And he would happily admit that it was new action scenes if they were in. Secondly, in an effort to boast DVD sales, he is saying that there will never be an extended, because fewer people would buy it on the 16th and just wait for the extended.

One is to boast Imax sales, and the other is to boast DVD sales, and they work hand in hand.
