    Extant Of Regeneration Abilities?

I asked a similar question about Megatrons face, but this is slightly different.

What is the extant of the film TFs regenerative abilities? Is it only in the armour? Or is it their entire body? Like, if given enough time, would Primes arm regenerate completely?

They should have covered this shit in the films, but maybe there is something in the prequel novels that I missed. I never read those so yeah...

You mean the same Bumblebee who very clearly had 2 functional legs in movies 2 and 3?

Ummm.... scorponok's tail did heal, you can see it's completely healed when he attacks jetfire.

In my thread about the ammo, there is a quote where Ironhide says that their ammo comes from them eating metal, he also mentions repair, maybe they can repair themselves by eating enough metal and regenerating from the mass from the metal?

Well, his right arm is technically a prosthetic. His left hand is all spidery but his right hand is more normal looking.

Its not regeneration when you have a medic that can put them back together or rebuild parts.

Although they do seem to have some built in self repair sytems as shown by starscream reattaching his own arm on the roof top scene after prime ripped it off in ROTF

Good to see someone payed attention to my post. It took me forever to find that exerpt!

Scoponok only lost the tip of his tail. Most lizards grow back their tails, so why not super-advanced robots? I dunno about whole limbs though.

But then, where would the new arm come from? Can Ratchet build new limbs from spare parts? I could see them eating metal and regenerating, but then they would just be too damn hard to kill.

Did they lose Prime's arm? Did it disappear forever?

    No?

Then Rathet re-attatched the original limb afterwards.

They can regenerate, but it takes a LOT of time [depending on the wound].

On DOTM-Megatron's case, he probably went to the moon and ripped off a Drone and used his parts to replace his own [he probably couldn't put a head pieace to replace the whole in his head because that would risk affecting his mind].

Ratchet will rebuild his socket and put the arm back on its place. Simple.

Yeah. They should have made some sort of canon movieverse book that explains all this shit in detail. Way to confusing...

Didn't Optimus do the exact same thing to Starscream in ROTF? Shortly followed by Starscream just sticking the arm back in place?

Prime just yanked Starscreams arm out of the socket, Sentinel tore off the socket, and the arm.

This is way too goddamn confusing...
