Considering that Blitzwing's three faces are a very distinctive part of the character, I seriously doubt that they'd leave them out.

I like the tank treads in his plane mode. It makes him more distinctive.

Regardless of what he has, I'm getting him.

P.S. Wouldn't it be cool if there were a Blitzwing toy that you could plug into an mp3 player and make it dance? 'Express my feelings in song' indeed.

 

Just hope blitzwings face doesn't fly off when I spin it.

The head gimmick may end up being just decals on a rotating cylinder, because someone said a while back that his Ah-nuld chin stuck out. Pictures and the figure itself will be out eventually.

 

You know maybe if his "spin button" was his chin, when you pressed it the face would "retreat" allowing the angry chin to rotate.

 

Yeah, it's pretty funny that one of the few transformers we've ever gotten with real rubber treads was, in fact, a crab. Rampage is an AWESOME toy, btw.

That said, I'd be surprised if we got moving treads on Blitzving.

but im more keen right now to see lug's gimmick. hope he has those bristleback missiles and ground punch thingie.

 

His bio says "Mace is powered by a star core" and apparently his bomber-tail detachs for the robot mode, he also got "holes" inside his hand and the Unicron.com bio mentions something about "SHOOTS LIQUID NAPALM FROM HIS HANDS"... smells like water-gun gimmick to me!

 

Blitzwing's rather hard to figure out color-wise, because some sacrifices have to be made depending on which mode you want to look more show-accurate.
Most notably this happens with the purple forearm plates that form the plane's grey back. But well, here's one version of how it could be:



Some observations:

-the plane's back is the tank's front
-the plane's wings form the tank's hull
-the tank treads' upper sections can swing open, they do so in plane mode and you can actually see where the articulation is in the tank sketch.

 

The ground punch is defintely in there, his big arms have two disrinct mechanisms on them, the small fins on the side which slide back a bit and a switch on the top of the arm.
I think that you pull back the fins to retract the punch and then push the button to fire it, I hope it's suitably strong, I want it to teach smaller figures (bumblebee) to fly!  

The back missiles don't seem very likely at all I have to say, the whole length pf the bomber past the wings hangs down off his back blocking any space that could be used for that. I suppose you could decorate it with a marker pen tho...

His other gimmick will be as Shroobmaster said some kidn of mace made from the bombers tail/rear engines that may or may not shoot liquid magma.  

Yeah I noticed that Blitzwing's deco seems quite cheaty, I suspect/hope that the toy will give priority to his bot mode.

btw, he looks beige in the cartoon when compared to lugnut.

 

Yeah, I know, Blitzwing's more beige and Lugnut more green in the cartoon, but when I colored them I sampled the colors from the ref pictures posted earlier, where they're both gray.

 

Maybe Fort Max is right about the punch!

It looks like there's more "red gimmick material" inside the hands than just possible-napalm-guns.

 

animated toy or not if he looks good in tank stealth bomber jet and robot mode and loos good with the arnold face in robot mode he is going straight to my classics collection to be displayed with astrotain and tankor/octane

just out of curiosity will he be anywhere near tankor or astrotrains sizescale?



one last question
is it just me or does anyone else think of colonel klink's character when blitzwing uses the first face with that monicle thing over the one eye?

 

He's actually going to be bigger when compared to Astrotrain and Tankor, as he's a Voyager, but depending on how big he ends up being as a Voyager, he could be close enough to them that they look good standing together, though probably not as good if they were all the same size class. Colonel Klink was the first thing I heard of when I first heard the one face's voice, and the look of the face helps reinforce that.

One of his faces should've been David Hasselhoff.
