How does this square with Transformers: PRIME?
which is odd, what reason would there have been anyway to try to cram the stories together, what would it have gained them?
That's the question I have seen no one ask or answer..
Unless they pull a bullshit like ERRYBODY GOT AMNESIA then it does not.
WFC and Prime confirmed, not in continuity.
Howeeveeer, considering both are part of the new Modern continuity based on Hasbro's bible... you can say they're both part fo the same CONTINUITY FAMILY. Just like the G1 cartoon and the G1 Marvel comics aint in continuity but are both G1.
It's either marketing (fail), or just something to say to a fanboy collective.
I think they would have been better off sticking with things being unrelated. That's even more continuities to make toys for, and they would have maintained cred. with people who would have figured it out for themselves later.
It jives in the sense that Prime needed some kind of exposition to explain what Dark Energon is to whoever didn't read Exodus or play WFC.
They should've just said the true truth, I mean, only fans care about that shit so it's not real good marketing anyway.
Would it HURT to say "WFC AND PRIME ARE UPCOMING SERIES BASED ON OUR NEW CONTINUITY EFFORT" ? It wouldn't. And it would save fans precious arguing time.
Didn't exactly stop them from talking about whatever the events on earth were 3 years before the cartoon started.
Besides, they could have EASILY recognized Dark Energon in conversation, that quick back story Prime gave the kids, etc.
Wouldn't even be needed. Megatron explained pretty well what Dark Energon was in 10 seconds of dialogue.
And it didn't square with WFC or EXODUS.
Lets see if there is an ARK (Project Generation One) in a future PRIME episode.
since dark energon can give life, it seems more similar to the AllSpark. Maybe they should've just called it AllSpark like in the last cartoon and in the movies.
Starscream also calls it the Anti-Allspark.
Hell, we were shown what it can do.
Now, here's another question:
in PRIME, megs lobbed a big chunk of Dark Energon into Cybertron and raised a bunch of zombies.
So, in Exodus / WFC, Cybertron shut down to recover from... Dark Energon.
So where were the zombies there?
Did it reach the core in Prime? It seems to have only affected the corpses in the planet's crust.
this thread is now pretty much pointless.
Recently, It's been stated by Hasbro directly that Prime and WFC are 2 separate continuities now.
Yeah... but unless it comes from the right country, the right city, the right floor of building, the right office, the right time of day, with the right person sitting with their legs crossed the right way and wearing the correct type of socks... it won't matter to many people.
