Hey Guys... I had this posted over at Cybertron.ca and thought I would share it with you guys. A few of you have seen it already as I have been working on it for a few weeks now.

So the past year I have been collecting G1 Jetfires. I currently have 7 different G1 Jetfires… some have different markings, dates, stickers, cockpits etc. I then came across a few custom evil Jetfires done by a few board members here. So here’s my take on that custom, some of the original parts were switched with a KO Jetfire to give him a different look.

    Thanks goes out to...
    - autobotx23 : Decepticon Jetfire
    - crosscharge : Nightfire, Evil Jetfire, what ever

I currently have him built about 90% now and will be doing a few small mods in the next few days.

Scroll down the pages as I'll be doing updates as I go along... I'll post all my wip pic's daily!

    Small update:

    - So most of the parts are all primed and sanded.
    - 1/2 of the jet has been painted white

Here's a quick dry fit of the cockpit area...

    [IMG][IMG][IMG]

    * oh yes the chest piece is broken but not to worry this is my test one. I am going to see what the out come of the purple looks like before I try it on the good one.

    Update #2:

    - Started to paint the purple.
    - the repro stickers are a different purple, not sure what I'm going to do now.

    [IMG][IMG]

ok so I decided to go with the 2 different purples. The paints apps show up more in Jet mode where as in bot mode the stickers look cool w/ the 2 tone. But it's coming along slowly... still need to paint a few more parts for the legs. Also up next is the chest piece to be painted.

    Another Update:

I have finished off most of the heavy priming and painting. The chest piece is 1/2 done, just going to wait a day or so before I mask it off for the black paint. In putting this thing together I broke a leg piece (&$#@^*) good thing a have a few extras. I also started applying the stickers which look sweet.
Now I won't be starting the add-on armor till a week or so from now. Still waiting for some pieces to come in.

So I'll only be showing jet mode pics from now on till the end... just to keep you wanting to see more. :)

Oh yeah not sure why the stickers are coming out looking blue!... Maybe it's poor lighting?

Thanks HAIL_KING_PRIME, still working on the rest of the armor. Having a few issues with it but once I have it completed I'll post pic's of the completed Bot.

pretty cool. I'd prefer the purple you painted with matched the reprolabels, but that's minor. Clean, nice look. How did you prevent rubbing issues with the jetpack and leg armor?

Hey thanks frenzy_rumble, means a lot coming from you! And yeah I should have changed out the purple in the reprolabels. I was going to cut the stickers up and just paint on the purple parts the same. Now it has 3 different purples, oh well minor... lol

Rubbing issues... yeah this was one of the issues I ran into right off the bat. When I put the jetpack together the inner hinge area started to flake off. So where the tail fins connect to the jetpack, I was thinking of modding that area with some styrene rods. I was going to cut out the silly square hinge part and add a rod in it's place. So this way the areas that rub will be hidden and the painted areas won't be affected. I may need to cut the hole on the fin a bit bigger so that none of the inner paint chips off.

As you can see in the pic I used a straw just to figure out how it will look like and to see if I would run into any other issues.

I got the idea from reading Wikkid thread : How to: Basics of scratchbuilding

    Small update:

so I ran out of paint and can't find any in the states or Canada. WTF! But I'll track more down soon as I'll need it for the 2 Classic's Shock waves I'm currently working on.
