Damn kids don't know how good they have it.

Yep, we have it pretty good
Self Gratification and abuse of technology. If you look at it in his point of view, I can agree.
But my cellphone is still an erroneous piece of crap.
Bleh, this was on ish talkers already.
Bleh, I don't post there, so your point is moot, sir.
That was hilarious!
At the same time, though, I think that if someone lives through different times, they can appreciate certain things more than people who didn't live through it. Me having a laptop with high speed internet makes me appreciate it more because I used to have a shitty computer with dial up back in the day and it would take like 12 hours for the page to open. People who live in a world where they have only been exposed to high speed internet will take it for granted because they aren't used to anything else.
That's the way I look at it, anyways.
We do have it to easy, I'll admit it. But we (even me sometimes) take shit for granted until we really need it.
Maybe we should send some of these kids who take today's technology for granted back in time or make them spend a year living with an Amish family. That should teach them a valuable lesson. Take away all of their cell phones, their iPods, their computers with high-speed internet, etc. and just make them live the way people lived long before all of these modern conveniences were even invented or put up with the more simple electronics one was lucky to afford back in the days our grandparents and parents lived.
I know... I sound so cruel. But hey, face it. Things just can't be taken for granted, and children -- even teenagers -- need to realize this.
i think we are very spoiled now with all the technology we have and we take it for granted and we just want more skynet will kill us in no time and it will be our fault
It's not fair to be putting all of this on kids and teens. There are plenty of adults out there who do the same thing and bitch and moan when technology isn't fast enough or good enough for them.
That's their problem then, though they're old enough that they should know better.
It's the younger generations I feel should learn not to take today's modern conveniences for granted.
I in no way take technology for granted the very idea that I am talking to people all over the word right now in a millisecond is nothing short of a miracle.
I am thirty two and ya I take it for granted. These things are meant to make our lives easier so it's easy to get frustrated when it doesn't work the way it should or are adverised to. Yes it is miraculous that we converse with eachother from across the globe, but it is human nature to find reasons to bitch about things and be unsatisfied. That's how we got to where we are. However I will try to be more patient in the future.
Just think how much the next generations will whine about how their teleporter glitches and mixes up their arms with their legs
If I ever have kids (that I know of), they're not getting cell phones until they can drive.
Why not just give them a cheap ass phone like mine?
Because kids don't need cell phones.
So you're going to teach them to borrow phones until they drive?
I never seemed to have a problem finding one when I was growing up, we did fine without them.
Are they only allowed to read books published before 1980? Can only listen to music on a record player?
