So, back in early '11, we were getting new trailers and such for DOTM.
A lot of them had Shockwave's Revenge playing in the backround.
And other songs with the loud noise every few seconds.
When it was released I remember seeing someone's post saying "I LOVE THAT NOISE EVERY FEW SECONDS!"

Is it just me, or does EVERY FREAKING MOVIE USE THAT NOW!?

Prometheus, Avengers, I think The Dark Knight Rises, EVEN FALL OF CYBERTRON!

    ...so yeah

Im getting sick of the "-insert x movie- this, rips off -insert y movie-". It's a very weak analogy for the most part it's just minor similarities that are more than likely coincidences or have already been established in the past long before either of the parties.

Sorry but I couldn't hear that noise in trailers for The Avengers, The Dark Knight Rises or Prometheus. Not that it matters anyway, at all, ever.

    Not entirely.

Prometheus's trailer music sounded like Shia LeBouf screaming.

    Prometheus. Soundtrack by Shia LeBouf.

I think he's talking about the loud heartbeat/drum/siren noise that goes off every couple of seconds?

I agree that trailers are ripping off some other trailer, but not sure if its ROTF. Here is how every action movie trailer goes nowadays.

    Slow paced music starts
Opens to a big open setting
    Character gives out expositionn
    More exposition
Music speeds up a bit as something happens on the screen (such as the Decepticons waking up on the moon or the ship landing in Prometheus)
    Things go generally quiet
    Something burst out
    Music speeds up
    Action scene
    *BWOOOOAAAAAAAH*
    Characters running
    *BWOOOOAAAAAAAH*
    Action scene
    *BWOOOOAAAAAAAH*
    Explosion
    *BWOOOOAAAAAAAH*
    Character having emotional moment
    *BWOOOOAAAAAAAH*
    Music slows down
Character says something either ironic, funny, or fearful.
    Things go quiet
Some kind of action and maybey more *BWOOOOAAAAAAAH*

I'm too lazy to quote everybody right now.

Anyway, it's not the EXACT "BWOOOOOAAAAPPP" sound, it's just a strange dramatic sound going off every second, be it a boom, a siren, a piece of music, I don't know. But every action movie's trailer has a weird sound every few seconds.

Also I'm not positive it's in the Avengers trailer...

Whether or not DOTM invented it, I think DOTM popularized it. It used to be cool, now it's cliche.

    Fixed.

That's a pretty common formula for modern action/sci-fi trailers. It's laughable anyone would think this was exclusive to DOTM.

You and me both, megapork. It's simply coincidences/common occurrences in movies of that genre.

If you speed up the soundtrack, you'll actually hear that it's simply Shia screaming "NONONONONONONO" over and over. And then it says something about the devil too. :p

I never heard it before DOTM, and then after DOTM, it was everywhere. I think DOTM popularized it at least.

Everybody is using it all of a sudden because DOTM was popular.
