Transformers infographic lists cartoon's every character — Autoblog
Not neat. A lot of those are hilariously wrong.
Already posted in TF General Discussion.
^Agreed. not neat.
It's actually really embarrassing how far this thing has spread on the net.
I saw Blurr and Ratchet's alt-modes and loled so hard.
Also, Rodimus Prime's robot mode.
That is so, so bad. So many charatcers either have their Animated counterpart's vehicle mode, or the wrong body for the alt mode. Chromedome isn't even G1 Chromedome. Rodimus is a repainted Optimus wat. And that's so not every character.
Optimus, the very first one on the list, is wrong.
Apparently Wheelie was a Prime at one point, going off of his alt-mode.
Yeah, whoever put this together didn't even try and do any research on it. It's like they just typed Transformers into google image, and then went with whatever came up.
haha LOL at rodimus prime... wow did he get that wrong
Yeah laughed hardest at that one, but sadly now I want that toy. LOL
Scooped you. But I didn't think it was news.
You know this was a stupid list when they showed Optimus Prime's truck mode and robot mode, that it was two different series.
In the thread I linked above the problems with that crapfest are pretty well covered. I'm trying to encourage some of our knowledgeable and talented members to make one that is correct. Go show some support!
Wow, Goldbug was a 91 VW Beatle despite being from before 1991. Amazing.
It's like Dancing Soundwave all over again.
Mods, please merge threads!
woot I'm still winning on time code! Second the merge suggestion.
I suddenly feel reminded of that Muppet Labs skit where Beaker got duplicated.
So G1 Ratchet and Blurr have the power to transform into their Animated counterparts. Awesome! I also love the detailed info on Chromedome. He turns into a car? Wow, I could have sworn he was a toilet.
I love how they claim Sunstreaker "was based off" a car that wouldn't be around for ten years, Orion Pax is called "U-Haul Robot," Bumblebee's image is Goldbug and Goldbug's image is Bumblebee and fan art of Bumblebee if he got the Matrix (still remember that art), Rodimus Prime is basically Armada Fire Guts Ginrai, Wheelie's alt mode isn't even his alt mode, and Arcee turns into a Convertible Coupe, among other things.
Jeebus another one!
Did they really think that said 1994 Beetle when it's clearly a Herbie style Beetle in the picture - are they really that thick and unaware that there was an original VW beetle.and not just VW's reimagining which didn't even come out till afterwards and even if it was a modern/vintage licensed Mexican one or something like that it still can't be made 10 years after the show was made ! ?
They are wrong in the comments above the infograph Hound 'is' a Japanese Jeep equivellent you can tell as A) He's a Japanese toy and B) the longer wheelbase. (i'd need to look it up but it was a Mitsibishi - probably says what it is on the Diaclone box) which the repeated inforgraphic mentions - but i'm not sure about the year being at all correct though.
Yep Magnus is the same as Optimus a Freightliner - Motormaster was a Kenworth though... they seem to have forgotten the Stunticons though.
I've been wondering about Brawn for years he's often refered to as a Land Rover but I wonder if he's actually an early Toyota Land Cruiser - but then he looks nothing like Trailbreaker who is a Toyota - but I'm still not quite sure about if he really is a Landrover.
Wasn't Hotrod actually based on a real car (both of them are the Classics one as well) - I don't have the images to hand though but I'm sure some has seen them. It was some sort of kit car the movie one was based on.
1994(?) Lamborghini for Sunstreaker - er don't see how that works - laugh I'e never seen a supercharged Vintage Lambo anyone ever heard of one existing (even as a one off) or did Takara just make that up ?
At least they got Skids' alt mode correct.
Rollbar both right... and Wrong 'Laugh'.
I think Fastlane is a Dragster not a Dune Buggy.
Oh look they got both Cliffjumper (Porsche 924S) and Jazz's Porsche model (Porsche 935) incorrect how unclever of them, neither is a 911.
I read many many many years ago that Arcee is called R.C. as it stands for Rolls-Royce Coupe - and that is why she has the grill she has. it's probably a roundabout Thunderbirds homage too.
Tracks was original an early 80's Corvette not a 70's one.
Oh I want a U-Haul bot to got with a Quintesson Croc-Guard Laugh.
Armada Optimus Prime painted red is Rodimus Prime now ?
Where the heck did they get that Goldbug picture from ???
I have a funny feeling Hotspot is actually a Hino Firetruck actually he's an earlier model of what was later also used for Superfire Convoy - that was why when they repainted the Titanium 6" Optimus Prime into Hotzone it didn't look that wrong.
I think Freeway was a Corvette - all be a slightly later model than Tracks. Thought sometime it almost looks like they are drawing him as a Transam but the toy looks like a Corvette to me.
The info-graph has the correct mode for Punch/Counterpunch but the round up lists him as a car that didn't exist for years after even if it is one similar to that used to make the Fun publications version of him more recently.
Seems odd to only include show characters and not mention Bumper or Hubcap or the Omnibots etc...
As well as miss out The Decepticons.
I'd like to see that Concept someone thinks Rodimus is derived from ??? any ideas anyone ? (I hope they don't mean that one driven by the Australian in the TV show Highwayman).
As for Jetto’s truck… at Hemmings Blog – Classic and collectible cars and parts
Personally I think that influenced one of the Brave toys though.
