And by this I mean complete in terms of what's already out. Because I look at my Classics collection and realize that once the things I've ordered in the mail get here, along with a few I'm waiting to get paid so I can buy, that there's not a lot out there that I need.

I mean, there's still Shockwave and the Constructicons and Dinobots, but I look at my collection now and say to myself "wow-of everything currently out there, theres nothing left I need to get."

Ever had this happen to you?

No because I dont go to buy all Transformers. Since the Beast Era ended, I only get what I really like. Some years it might be two figures in three years, other times it might 50 in a year. Anything that I walk past, I might buy it years later at a flea market or a yard sale.

Yes. It's happening right now. It sucks. Aside from the PCC I got from the gift card promotion, I haven't gotten a TF since January for this reason. I just ordered Lugnut but really that's it. And once DOTM gets here all I need are a few small figs and I guess, well, I'll be done with TFs until Prime comes along. :(

I doubt mine will ever be 'complete'. There is a lot of rare stuff I want.

Thats the beauty of "collecting" :)  Otherwise its just "buying some items"

I see what you are saying though. Everyone is different in what they want and what they have.

I feel as though my Classics-verse collection is complete (which also includes Botcon Classics figures, Device Label figures, FPs figures, iGear Arcee etc). With my BW & MP/Alt/Binaltech/Alternity collections also complete (according to my standards), I've recently been trying to fill in the remaining gaps in my G1 collection. Recent additions include Roadbuster, All 6 Throttlebots, Bumblejumper, Misfire/Triggerhappy/Slugslinger & Whirl. Coming in the mail are all 3 Coneheads & Rodimus Prime, Snapdragon/Apeface & maybe eHobby Crosscut. When you're as hardcore as I am... :lol

no official classics combiners. not really. i find scouts to ugly for my display. making combiners out of these are out of the question. classics devastator (a repaint) does not pass. no dinobots bigger than deluxe? not really.

not what I meant-double check the first post. I meant complete in the sense that there's nothing currently available thats required for one's collection. Obviously there are more we need (Shockwave) but of toys currently out, I personally can't think of any that would add to my collection at the moment. In that sense of the word.

Are there things out there you're still hunting down? or is it just a waiting game for what comes out next?

I'm actually VERY close to completing what I've wanted to complete. As far as new stuff, the key is what limits one places upon collecting it.

Not for me, sadly the ones that I "need" for the two lines I decided to focus on arn't at retail or are out of my budget right now,

    Classics:
    Botcon 07 Bugbite
    Botcon 07 Dreadwind
    Botcon 08 Rodimus
Botcon 08 Grimlock (maybe not completely out of budget)
    Botcon 08 Shattered Prime
    Henkei Wildrider
    Henkei Crystal Convoy

    MP:
MP-04 (no idea why I never purchased it)
    MP-04s
    MP-08x
    MP-09

The nice thing, when there is nothing out at retail, I can just go down the list when I have a little extra cash.

I'm nearly done for the time being, with only Warpath outstanding I probably won't be buying much more until the next G1 inspired/Generations stuff comes along, whatever that will be.

    LOL! :lol

Even if I do complete a series, I just do some back tracking & try to complete another.

TFs collecting is a never ending road for me. (At least for all this while)
