I recently bought a Spike for G1 Grand Max off ebay. I emailed the seller before auction ended and seller guaranteed it is "G1 original".

After delivery I found it to be the high quality KO from the recent 10-pack Headmasters knockoffs. The reason I believe it's a KO is because I have an original Spike for Fort Max and a high quality KO from the 10-pack, there are some minor molding differences between the two. And the Grand Max Spike I received is the same with the KO Fort Max Spike.

So I asked for a refund and offered to ship it back to seller. Seller refused to refund and insisted this is G1 original, and claimed that this is the European version (Wait...what?) Anyone heard of an European version G1 Grand Maximus?

Anyone here could provide some comparison pictures of original Grand Max Spike v.s. KO?

If I appeal this to ebay/paypal dispute. I may need some comparison pictures to back me up. Muah appreciated!

    No such thing,

and on the 0.00000000000000000001% chance there is and i never heard of it, why would the European version have less detail than the original?

Sounds like he's trying to use the term "European" as a way of selling a knock-off.

Hmmm, you have a seller name? There are a few that have been passing fakes off on eBay. That's one bad thing about that recent KO/repro Headmaster giftset. Before the giftset became so popular, you rarely saw a Grand Max Spike for auction. So I'd definitely be more suspicious now than ever. You have any pics of this Grand Max Spike? I could probably tell you in one pic (with chest details shown) if it's fake or not.

I love how he calls it new, yet he opened Grand Max up. Kind of ruined the value. Might have been worth that price for a sealed Grand Max (still a lot of money).

Pity that its missing the sticker sheet else it should be gone by now.

Really? Seems somewhat overpriced for an opened Grand Max.

EDIT: I'm pretty sure that Grand Max has been listed for a long time now.

    Really?

Even a MISB Fortress Maximus would have gone through USD $2,000 mark, let alone a Grand Maximus.

And you're hearing this from me/my guys whom sold an Unused Grand Maximus (MIB) in C7 box at USD $2,000 3 months back.

I think a MISB Grand Max would go over the 2K mark (no more than 3K unless the buyer is desperate). Not so sure on a Fort Max. Would probably come close to $2000 for a MISB one. That said, I still think that Grand Max is overpriced.

If my memory didn't fail me, one of the members here (anabolik1) bought a MISB Grand Maximus not too long ago. Would be interesting to know how much he paid for it. :ev:

From what I gathered in that thread, he paid less than 3K for his MISB one.

    ^ That's too general a statement, Tirade.

Less than 3K literally reads any amount between USD $1 - USD $2,999. :lol
