    In this thread, post your ideas to help conserve points while being an effecient fighter too!

    A deadly combination would be to use fine aim, and fire in short bursts. Sometimes I run towards an enemy guns ablazing and waste a clip of ammo because I miss, or I don't react quick enough when I kill the enemy and keep the trigger held down for a second by mistake. You'd be amazed by how many bullets you'd save by aiming precisely and not using any more bullets than you need to.

    I prefer energon cubes to Overshields immensly. An Oversheild gives you twice the amount of health, but if you by two energon cubes instead of one overshield, you save 50 points.

    If you have anyways to help save points, post them here!

    Don't forget to use your vehicle ammo, and when you have more than one weapon, just up the ammo for both of them before spending money to buy ammo.

    I tried a new strategy and at wave wave I usually have over 1000 points for later waves. I thought this out on my own.

    I usually do this with Bumblebee so tactics may have to change with others. He has Shockwave and Dash.

    1) Earlier waves are easy and drones die in one hit. CONSERVE AMMO. Dash and melee.
    2) If you have whirlwind or shockwave use it as much as you can at first to take down most enemies and gain more energon for future abilities. (This is how you get a lot of points)
    3) Only spend the 150 points (health/ammo) in absolutely necessary in the first waves. If dying is easier then die. it saves 150 points. The way I see it it's inefficient to get health when low in the first few waves. Get downed and die and you'll come back quickly with more ammo and health.
    4) Get doors open quickly. Find the overshield room quickly as well as the X12 Scrapmaker.
    5) I can't stress this enough but SUPPORT your team. If a new guy joins in wave 10+ buy him/her an overshield. It's imperative if you want to advance. Plus look out for the player until he'she has a decent amount of points.

    If you want to play with me my Gamertag is: Asikokami. I'll do me best ^_^

    I prefer overshields cause they give you a better chance to run away and get more health.

    I've got a few tips to share. The ones I've listed below aren't specific to any one character but these should help you survive a few extra waves. I've managed to reach wave 40+ on several occasions with my buddies from start to finish, so these are tried and true tips.

    1) Conserve your ammo in the first few waves, melee kill when safe and possible. Initial waves of enemies are slow, stupid and easy to kill so why waste ammo when you can strafe around, dash and melee kill them? It'll save you some points towards other items you'll need later (open rooms, overshield, weapons, etc) In most cases (aside from early wave Destroyer tanks), it's possible to kill almost every enemy in at least the first 3 waves by just melee.

    2) Use your abilities wisely. Don't just spam on your whirlwind to take out just a lone machine gunner or War Cry yourself just to take a CQC Specialist -- save it and use it when you need it the most (Whirlwind to take a Brute down quickly, War Cry yourself and your team just before facing a mob of enemies, use Hover for taking out Shotgunners and Titans from a safe distance, etc), and don't just use them for the sake of using it.

    3) Find cover. Just pick a spot where you can at least find an object or wall to get some cover to avoid enemy fire (preferably near health and ammo machines). Don't stand in the middle of an open area unless you like to get shot from every angle possible with little to no hope of getting saved.

    4) When you're down and have enemies around you, keep firing at them the entire time until someone rescues you. If you keep shooting, at least you can kill off a few enemies to make yourself a little bit more attractive for saving and earn a few extra points. It's very difficult for your teammates to come save you if you're surrounded by shotgunners, Titans and Brutes without getting themselves killed. The few enemies around you, the higher the likelihood of you getting rescued.

    5) When saving points to buy health, weapons, ammo, open doors, etc., don't spend points until you have enough plus an extra 100 or 150 points. This is to make sure you can buy yourself ammo and health in case you need it while spending your points.

    6) If there's only one enemy left in the wave, keep it alive and have someone watch over it while the others go buy/spend points to open new doors and stock up on items. Kill the last enemy when you're all stocked up and ready. This way, it'll allow your team some extra to be prepared for the next wave before it starts.

    7) Support your team and stick in group(s). Either stay as a group of four or split into two teams of two (at separate locations, if you want to reduce the amount of enemies coming at you and the other team). Having a teammate back you up goes a long way, so spend points on getting weapons, health and ammo for your teammate if you can spare some points.

    that and after wave 15, the hits get pretty hard, especially from a brute, i would rather have one that a one/two hit kill

    I guess my old thread died a while back.

    well when I play as the leader my tactics include.

    1. using vehicle rockets, when you use the vehicle rockets you're using the fusion cannon of vehicle weapons. You can shoot rockets down a hall way and totally miss something but the splash damage of the rocket will hit any nearby enemies. best thing to do is spam the rockets on large groups of enemies headed your way.

    2. don't use Ram as an offensive weapon. use ram as a speed boost and time saver. I use ram to dash across large chasms to my allies in need.

    3. the health vendor is your friend, despite my insane luck with brutes and titans. leaders are the 2nd largest class ingame and with that title they have the 2nd largest target on their back. when playing as a leader always be conservative about your health. under 3 bars and it's time to buy health.

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    Zeta Prime tips
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

    Easily the best character in the game now. Zeta prime has the chassis to decimate with the abilities to conserve insane amounts of points.
    (forsaken with 8k points to spend)
    (broken hope with 4k points to spend)
    (Pulse with 3k points to spend)

    1. When playing as Zeta use the ammo beacon sparingly. base your uses on how much ammo you have. how many points you have. how many enemies are left and how many allies you have on the map.

    Generally when I use the beacon i'll either place it with 3 seconds left on the intermission clock so everyone knows it's up. or I'll place it when i'm low on ammo and it's available (but behind cover always)

    2. Warcry. Warcry is a double edged sword of goodness.
    benefits include:
    Damage increase
    Armor increase
    Ally armor increase
    Ally damage increase
    during warcry animation reload can be done to conserve valueable seconds

    when I use warcry it's either to tear apart legions of enemies or to help save my allies or myself.

    if an ally is down I pop a warcry so that both the downed ally and I get an armor boost. (so those stray bullets aren't as deadly) it also gives me a chance to survive the brunt of shots (position myself infront of the fire so the ally doesn't die instantly)

    3. Double Warcry
    this is insanity but it works. when playing with a friend you should try this tactic. have both optimus and zeta team up in a room. whenever a large group of enemies (titans, brutes shotgunners etc.) come after you just pop a double warcry. this will effectively

    quadruple your damage output
    quadruple your armor.

    imagine standing in front of a titan with an assault rifle and killing him without hiding behind cover... cool right?

    hope I helped. now if you'll excuse me I'm going to start a thread about how I hate AirRaid players.

    More importantly, DO NOT pick up energon shards if your special is already full. Energon shards *are* offensive power. They're shards your teammates could pick up and use against enemies.

    I forget that sometimes with 1-1 fights with grunts but after mowing down a large group I stand back and let someone else get the shards if i'm already full

    Great tips guys.

    Soundwave4win, your thread isn't exactly dead, I created this thread for strategies specificly on how to conserve your resources.

    I just thought I'd get more responses if I posted a new thread though since this section is slowing down so greatly. Sorry, man. :eek:
