i'm calling bollocks on the 72 hours per frame with devestator just down to maths in 1 minute of footage that would be 60 secs at 24 frames per sec = 1440 frames if each frame took 72 hours (3days) 1440 frames would take 103680 hours of rendering time! thats 4320 DAYS!!! that would mean it would have taken a year to render rendering 11 frames simultaniously JUST for 1 min of devestator. So unless ILM have a time machine thats bullshit
Only 11 frames at once? I think not. Read the entire article linked in that one: http://www.vfxworld.com/?atype=articles&id=4003 Then read this to learn more about ILM's render farm: BBC NEWS | Technology | The power behind LucasFilm magic Then consider that THAT was in 2007. Then consider how quickly processor power increases. Then eat your words.
Or you know, they have multiple computers rendering different frames? You honestly think they render the entire movie one frame at a time on a single computer or network. Common sense FTL.
