I fail to see how it was misplaced. They have been shown to be able to speak in vehicle mode, if not very often. So what is the problem with him yelling to Optimus in car mode?

Not to mention that Optimus talked while in truck mode in AOE. As well as Bee used his radio voice in car mode a few times.

 

No problem at all, in fact I liked the fact that came for Optimus to help him out

 

also wheelie speaks to soundwave in vehicle form in tf2

 

Makes me remember, that we've seen a set pic. of Wheelee in alt mode for TLK, but he was only seen in robot mode in the film.

Well I mean it does happen a few times throughout the movies.

 

Hot Rod weren't the first. Bee was, if we include radio speak. If we don't, when Starscream was. There are multiple TFs that talk in vehicle mode throughout the movies. Have you already forgotten "Calling all Autobots" by Optimus while in truck mode, both in the barn and on the road, f. ex. back in AOE? In fact, there are TFs that talk in vehicle mode each movie.

No, it wouldn't be terrible. But your first post made it look like they had never talked in vehicle mode, as you said they were only vehicles. And that is what I replied to as they have indeed talked in vehicle mode several times. Anyway, as Lorenzo wants the focus removed from TFs, we may never get more than what we have of vehicle talk.

PS.: Also Optimus while in truck mode from AOE: He talked to his passengers about the situation and the loss of Lucas. That is another show of that they are TFs and not just vehicles.

 

yes, i agree you're right, now that i look back, there are more instances than i thought, but nowhere near as many as there should be

 

Then someone here would cry "Where are the robots in disguise? Why do they speak so much in vehicle mode?"
