Okay Okay this episodes is confusing, why didn't Arcee terminated Starscream when she had the chance? What was she thinking? Prime was right her desire to avenge Tailgate is clouding her judgement episode after episode when she faces Arachind. But I don't get it why did she even gave the key to Starscream's cuffs? As she okay? or something is wrong with her logic. Starscream clearly had the upper hand until Bumblebee showed up. Any thoughts?

Starscream accidentally revealed he killed Cliffjumper.

Arcee wanted to kill Starscream, but because it wouldn't be right to kill a defenceless prisoner, she gave him the key so he could at least fight back.

Starscream freed himself after scoring a sneak attack, and they had a fight.

Arcee won, pinned down Screamer and prepared to execute him.

Bumblebee saw this, and Arcee realised that, despite her need for revenge, slaughtering a prisoner before Bumblebee would not be right. So she let him live.

This. Arcee isn't entirely cold-hearted even when it comes to events like this.

Because the Autobots have no problem slaughtering hordes of Vehicons, but if it's a named character, they can't get through the plot armor.

    Exactly the point.

The autobots would be no different from the decepticons if they killed or tortured unarmed prisoners.

    For a totally different reason.

    Starscream wasn't unarmed.

But his hands weren't bound when Arcee was about to kill him.

because arcee didn't want him to be. she wanted him to fight, she basically was attempted to let a prisoner of war who recently wanted to join the autobots ( although out of self preservation) go so she could kill him without feeling as morally bad. starscream knew if he was to survive he'd have to strike her first. it was all arcee's fault and at the end when she saw bumble bee she knew what she was doing was wrong.

This pretty much ends the thread right here.

Unless absolutely provoked, Autobots don't kill Decepticons or anyone. Only after Raf was actually hurt by Megatron did Prime decide to go and f*ck him up. Logic applies elsewhere as well, but pretty much what was said in this post!

If Arcee killed Starscream there, she would've been no better than him anyway.

This cost the Autobots a potential advantage with the knowledge Starscream had, which Megatron anticipated Starscream would spill on his entire military operation, hence why he's pissed as HELL at Airachnid for abandoning Starscream. Arcee seems to learn her lesson on how low she nearly sunk, if she had killed Starscream, and cost the Autobots a critical advantage they'd need, all thanks to her lust for vengeance, and even restrains Bumblebee from avenging Raf...

... Only to get pissy about letting a defenseless Starscream go in Crossfire, and once again running off screaming "MY PARTNERS ARE DEAD" after Airachnid.

Like what everyone said here Arcee relizes that she let her revenge urges cloud her mind to the point of almost resorting to cold blooded murder. Seeing Bumblebee stare at her made her know this and arguably she still remembers that because in Armada when Airachnid got trapped in the stasis pod she could've easly broken her out of it and killed her on the spot but decided to take her to the base instead. Which is why I don't get why some people say Arcee's character being reset when it was clear that she decided to not break Airachnid out of the pod and killed her in cold blood which tells me that she's slowy but surely getting the better idea of it. If she was really reset into her S1 version she would've just killed Airachnid on the spot savagly but she didn't which means that she's not. I just don't see how some people can forget that.

What I can agree that in Crossfire the writers did screw up at the part about Arcee getting ticked about Starscream when before that episode aired she was fine with it but hopefully the writers will give us an explanation why. I still like to think of it as she's slowly learning but still has some habits to let go but that's my opinion.
