    Optimus flipping a coin

Ha ha, a coin sized for Prime would be the size of a manhole cover! Don't drop it around the squishies.... or any of Ratchet's stuff. Optimus ... I NEEDED THAT!

If someone actually makes an animated gif of Optimus flipping a manhole cover as a coin we should get credit for coming up with the idea.

**** SPOILERS ALERT SEASON 2 Finale**** if you haven't seen it don't read my opinion on Prime's Choice.

    ----------------------------------------------------

With Prime’s decision to destroy the Omega Lock he has , by his own admission, doomed the Autobot’s cause on cybertron. He destroyed the only means to restore life to Cybertron and when fellow autobots across the galaxy ask why ?? He did it to save 3 humans and a human planet will just not wash. It won’t stick. Autobots like Ratchet will go WTF !?!?!?! And Megatron is right. The Autbots can run but the political ramifications for Prime’s stupid pro-human action will leave Autobots as traitors and thus can never ever return to Cybertron. In my opinion Prime is an Autobot leader for a rated G universe so I understand why the writer’s took this kiddie route. But if Prime was a leader of a Rated R transformers world. The kid’s would have been sacrificed in a heart-beat. Epic battle would have taken place. And with Autobots using most of the relics it’s safe the say the Autbots would have been the victor at the cost of 3 human lives and chunks of earth screwed up. in my opinion Prime really screwed up. BIG TIME. As spock once said " THE NEEDS OF THE MANY OUTWEIGH THE NEEDS OF THE FEW OR THE ONE "

There is one thing that bugs me about the last episode. And it bugged me before. Megatron should not have been able to use the Forge of Solus to make that dark energon sword. To use the Forge of Solus you need the power of the Prime which is the Matrix of Leadership. Using a dead prime's hand to wield the Forge should not have worked since well it doesn't have power anymore. it's lifeless. and attaching the dead prime's arm to megatron and coming to life would be due to the Megatron's power which is DARK ENERGON; NOT THE MATRIX OF LEADERSHIP. but i know it is a kids' show so logic really isn't needed.

The Matrix of Leadership isn't the source of power for a Prime, it is simply the combined aspects of their wisdom and experiences. The original Primes did not require the Matrix to use their weapons, and thus neither does Megatron.

Megatron stated multiple times that to use the Forge, one needed the hand of a Prime. So he got the hand of a Prime.

    some minor corrections

Actually, In Season 2 Episode 5 Operation Bumble-bee. In the scene where Megatron has the Forge of Solus in his hand and he is whacking some piece of metal with Knockout by his side he says and I quote " It is as I suspected WITHOUT THE POWER of a PRIME TO ACTIVATE IT. The forge is merely another addition to our tool chest. "

So as you can see the Power of a Prime is needed to use the Forge of Solus. And attaching a dead prime's hand to Megatron to use the Forge in making that dark energon sword would not and should not have worked. Since a dead prime's hand attached to Megatron would have been powered by Megatron's DARK ENERGON. So the writers made a mistake there. But i understand why the writer's turned a blind eye. They wanted to give the viewers an awesome purple glowing sword clashing against a blue glowing sword. (the effects reminded me a bit of a lightsaber fight) And it was terrific action packed scene if i may add. However, despite the great sword fight, one likes continuity of logic in a mythology or story that is being told. But you know like I said it's a kid's show so I really don't have any Big expectations.

And someone earlier said the Matrix of Leadership is not a power. Although I do agree the Matrix of Leadership is the collective wisdom of the Primes i also feel it is a power as well. This is clearly shown in Season 1 Episode 26 One Shall Rise Part 3. Optimus Prime yells out " Matrix of Leadership will light our darkest Hour." and then a blue energy beam shoots from inside his chest out towards a screaming Unicron; defeating him.

hmmm........... I wonder if they'll ever expand on that in the show, probably not since it looks like Megatron has no need for that arm anymore

I rewatched the episode yesterday and now I am wondering.
StarScream threatened Jack to break the box and let him perish. Jack claims that he is ready to die for the Autobots.
And if to ask him:"And are you going to leave your mother absolutely alone?", what would be his reply?

You could ask a similiar question to any only child of a single parent who is a first responder, soldier, or aid relief worker.

I like Jack and his mom's dynamic; it takes a lot of guts for the writers to create a family on a mainstream television show that is not the "perfect" family; a mom and dad, a great house, a steedy undefined white collar job for the dad that makes enough money that the mom does not have to work, and no real world problems cough::Sam::: cough :D .

When you hang out with giant aliens robots who are fighting a civil war and you willingly offer support the difference is minimal. You accept the burden of that friendship which is that you could get killed by associating yourself with the Autobots. The movieverse (thankfully) captured this element in a significant way and Prime is keeping this constructive element alive.

Think about it, every main character human has been in danger and significantly contributed in some form or another (minus Miko I think). Heck they had an episode referencing it The Human Factor.

Rob, your "point" has nothing in common with my line, yet.
I would understand if you mentioned June's permission, when Jack came to Cybertron, but this is just pointless.

Your point isn't about friendship. It is stuck with the fact that alien robots appear to be better friends than families, because these families were "unhappy".

I apologize, I did not understand the point of your statement. It sounded to me like you were criticizing Jack's decision of self sacrifice.

    As such, based on your reply I don't believe you understand my point, quite a bit I am afraid. Allow me to clarify my words;

First off hypothetically when one takes in the friendship of a given faction (Autobots) in a conflict and begins to assist them they take the risk of being put in harms way by the opposing faction (Decepticons) an element that is frequently forgotton or lightened in TFs.

Furthermore, this is not about families vs friends or anything of the like, the Autobots are not competing with June Darby over Jack rather, Jack, June, Miko, Fowler, etc are now a part of the Autobot family albeit not biologically but, rather as Raf and Arcee put the term "family".

I hope this clarifies my point
