stores tend to have a lot of old stock in the back, that they put up if they run out of room or what ever, and once they gain room back, they put it out again. that is what we did when i worked at toys r us after all. at least.

"Epic"? It's just a store selling some old stock. Not really seeing the "epicness".

Actually, this has happened to me. Last year around Christmas, I found a Marvel Legends Wonderman at a Walmart. And, as an added bonus, he was only $7.

A few months after the movie just came out, my local TRU did a massive restock, but with nothing but Classics toys. It was heaven for me, as I'd only just gotten into TF collecting.

I dont get the "it must have been in the back this whole time" thing. I think its obvious that an employee facing a ton of Christmas returns didn't care/have time to analyze what he/she was taking back.

it happens a lot. K*B here had a reputation for "spring cleaning" the backstock; me and my friends could find old SW, Gundam and those carded TF:U figure sets like Superion, Devy and Defensor on the cheap. And we bought a lot of it.

I think the epic here is how poorly a store manages its backstock considering that at inventory time, having all of this outdated, out of the loop product counts against the store.

but had you just put that mirage in your cart as you hiked over to the pet aisle, it woulda been epic win for you.

I don't care what you guys say, that shit is cooool. I love walmart stock-men being frigg'n lazzzzy. I tell you I was going crazy for Mirage when he came out in 2006!, and then to hear that he was found 3 years later is...well... not epic, but crazy coool.

I think I'd feel the same way about the fact that the stock just gets recycled that badly, but still, it's good to know that somewhere, there's still probably pallets of Alternators just waiting for the shelves.

    One can hold out hope.

something similar happened to me this past july 4th. right there in plain view amongst all the usual animated and universe shelfwarmers and some movie toys, i found classics voyager megs. needless to say, he was in my buggy before anyone else could snag him up in all his nerf glory.

Yeah really. It'd be nice if the WalMarts here would restock something interesting for a change.

I got alternators skids about 4 months ago at a walmart. It was very dusty and on a high shelf in the clearance section that had a sticker that said $11. I couldn't pass it up.

Right after Christmas I saw a lone Ironhide FAB at Target. Packaged was damaged and stained to hell with who knows what. :/ I picked it up by the corner 'Monk' style and price checked it and it said "item not found." I didn't want to go through the hassle so I left it there.

Last time I was at TRU they had just put out a case of Cybertron leaders. Galvatron and Metroplex.
