Just wondering something.. Ive seen talk about him before and the "taking months to pay you back" but, I always wonder why people dont just escalate the paypal claim ? or does it not work that way ?

I thought if you dont receive items, its just as simple as filing a claim, they investigate, and simply refund you if they are found to be at fault.

yup, happened to me. i opened a claim, they investigated and paypal refunded me the whole purchase. not with this seller though.

i would asusme the same would happen here. I believe paypal refunds you and goes after the seller for the money so that paypal/ebay is paid back.

love the one comment, "claimed house burned down, took over 3 months to pay back-avoid like the plague"

this is the shit that just proves without a doubt that ebay is broken, does not give a fuck about fraud and just is in it for all the fees they can get off someone being a seller.

this guy has screwed people over 3 times at least for $600 USD or more...and is still on ebay...

^ This. I agree - why can't/won't they just ban this twerp? Unless their "fraud" department (if they even have one) is just THAT inept? You'd think someone over there would recognize this guy and cancel his auctions.

Could a complaint to the Better Business Bureau help in these situations? I'm not talking about EVERY case of fraud - just guys like this. Like, might they ban this guy forever if Ebay got blasted on the BBB over and over because they ALLOW this to occur to customers? I know Ebay can't babysit every seller and all, but it IS their show - they allow it to go on, yes?

He spends the money straight away by ordering other items he wants or orders items to sell on, Paypal dont take money back spent on other transactions sadly so he has the time to get shot of your cash before you smell a rat. Guys registered addy is also his place of work so he is smart enough not to list his home details therefore making it hard to get hold of him.

I wonder what his employer would do if they found out they were being implicated in fraud?

that shouldnt matter where the money goes. if you open a claim and ebay sides with you, you get the money regardless. i am pretty sure after that ebay invoices the seller for the refunded amount.

no they will grab what funds are in the account at the time..they freeze funds once a claim is filed..if they cannot recover all the funds..they pay you the amount they froze...and tell you if they can "recover additional funds later" they will send that to you...

i have been F'ed 2 times by this...once on a $150 transaction 5 years ago where i only got $70 back...and three years ago on $240 which i recovered $180....now how they handle it currently i am not sure it if has changed...with that new ebay guarantee they might cover 100% of the transaction...but when paypal was in charge of the claims...they did not guarantee that you would get 100% of the amount back

The worst change eBay has made is keeping bidders IDs secret. You can't warn a poor schmuck that he's about to get ripped off anymore.
