So, what in your favorite games constitute an Epic Moment of Awesome?

Mine for example is the arrival of the Alliance Fleet in Mass Effect, when they swoop down and save the asari dreadnought.

Mass Effect - Battle for the Citadel - Paragon - 1080p - YouTube

There´s something really epic with the music and the human warships at the same time.

I love Niko Bellic's "Welcome to America" in one of GTA IV's endings. Same with parachuting into a penthouse to Kanye West's Power in Saint's Row the Third. And then there's pretty much everything in Vanquish.

Freespace 2. All of it. You start out fighting enemies on par with you, then you are outclassed and fighting a war for survival. Every victory feels like an accomplishment and every defeat feels like seven consecutive kicks to the balls.

Here's the intro for those who want to see it (Freespace 1 spoilers):

As much as others did not like them, I really got a kick out of the final story battle in Dragon Age 2 against Knight Commander Meredith, and the final battle against Corypheus in the DLC pack 'Legacy'

    -Chief riding a bomb.(Halo 2)
-Entire final level of Halo 3.
    -Skyrim. ALL OF IT.
    -Carter's Death.(Halo Reach)
-I might as well throw most of Halo 3 in here.
-I have yet to beat Mass Effect 2, but I have already seen the ending, so the ME2 ending was pretty epic.

Man, you hit the nail on the head here. There's lots of epic gaming moments, but this is possibly the best of the current generation. Also notable is the entire intro of Mass Effect 2 and going through the Omega Relay.

The cinematic where Starkiller pulls an Imperial Star Destroyer down was pretty impressive (though the level was absolute crap). Granted it's not like he threw it around like a toy, but I don't even think Clone Wars Anakin has shown that sort of power to my knowledge.

I agree with this, the feeling of it was awesome. (And at that I still hate the tie fighters in that level)

Another ending for me is the lone wolf ending in halo reach.

Epic = singing along to Lovin' by Sublime in Saints Row 3. When the main character and the black dude sang along with Lovin' on the radidio, that was epic.

Zombies as a whole in the Call of Duty series, but perhaps some stand-outs were listening to 115 for the first time in Kino de Toten, and playing as Danny Trejo or Robert Englund in Call of the Dead.

In the final battle of Kingdom Hearts II, when you and Riku have to fend off millions of lasers. You have to fucking button mash for a minute straight or you WILL die.

Seeing Chernabog as a surprise villain in Kingdom Hearts, as well as the epic rendition of Night on Bald Mountain.

Optimus bitch-slapping Megatron with his TRAILER in the Dark of the Moon game.

That one mission in Modern Warfare 2 when Russia is invading a suburban neighborhood. The sheer scale of that scene, and the epic music being played by Hans frigging Zimmer himself really packs a punch into me.

And of course, Crash Bandicoot being swatted into the TV screen by a two headed giant in Crash Bandicoot: Warped.

The final strike in both The Legend of Zelda- the Wind Waker, and the Legend of Zelda- Skyward Sword. Proof that the graphics don't need to be realistic to convey the most epic of moments.

Spider-Man's battle with Anti-Venom in Edge of Time [where he ends up within an inch of life], it's been quite a while since I felt so emotional for a video game character, Peter David really hit the nail with the sadness. Kudos for him.

The Final Boss of Nightmare Before Christmas: Oogie's Revenge also qualifies:

Come on, it's a thirty-foot tall Oogie in a final showdown against Jack, ONLY WITH MUSIC.

All 3 Uncharted games are easily the most epic games I've ever played. My favorite epic moments from the series include the entire ending of Uncharted 2, the convoy level, the cruise ship level, the cargo plane level, and the caravan level.
The Force Unleashed was also really epic and much better than the prequels (and I even liked the prequels).
Call of Duty Black Ops had quite a few epic moments like the Vorkuta escape mission.
The first Ezio mission in AC Revelations is probably the most epic level I've played in the series so far.
