Gah! :(  Just finished watching the match, I'm sorry to say it but England were shambolic. The atmosphere in Wembley after the final whistle was unlike anything I'd ever seen - most of the crowd had no idea how to react.

I expect a P45 is winging it's way to Steve MacLaren as we speak.

I'm really surprised to hear that… The Euro with no England, I never would've thought it would be possible. Qualifications were more of a formality in the past. I guess they can't take things for granted.

Can't say that i'm surprised or even interested at this point, I couldent even be bothered to watch the match and its not like they would have had a chance to qualify tonight anyway if Israel didn't bail them out by beating Russia.

    Awesome man!!!!

Just came home from watching the match at a local watering hole.

Beautiful game! Despite England obviously paying off the refs (to no avail) Croatia proved to be the superior team - 2 wins in the qualifiers, hahaha!

You gotta love it; too bad Italy didn't suffer the same result on Saturday (I guess they pay the refs more money and dive better, lol).

A very sad day in England, lol..... btw, no more Beckham in international play.

You’ve got to hold and give
But do it at the right time
You can be slow or fast
But you must get to the line
They’ll always hit you and hurt you
    Defend and attack
Theres only one way to beat them
    Get round the back
    Catch me if you can
    Cos’ I’m the England man
    And what you’re looking at
    Is the master plan
    We ain’t no hooligans
    This ain’t a football song
    Three lions on my chest
I know we can’t go wrong

Ah, England, back when you weren't a bunch of shitebag crybabies.

    Except Gazza.

After watching Scotland get robbed by the spanish referee on Saturday, this is a small consolation to take out of what's going to be a very uninteresting Euro 2008.

    Urrrgh.

I watched the match from around 15 minutes in, and wondered why the score read 1-0 to Croatia. Then sat down as they scored their second. OMG.

I didn't realise the formation was 4-3-3, it looked more like 4-5-1, and Crouch by himself never ever scores. And long balls toward white shirts surrounded by blue shirts never works either. WTF?

The second half was better, and I was wishing for Beckham to do something, and lets be honest, he delivered, perfect cross to Crouch (who interestingly wanted Beckham to play from the start, saying stuff about how he scores from Beckham kicks...)

The England game is totally pants at the moment, Maclaren won those two games because he was forced to change his squad due to injuries. But, the moment the old players were back from injury, he reverted back to the old team... why?

Englands chief weakness (from the point of view of a football novice admittedly) is the overreliance on certain players. Putting Rooney up front just means every single attack comes from Rooney. Which, is easy to counter, just mark him. Its what happened years ago with Beckham. Every England attack would be crossed in by Beckham. The counter? Mark Beckham.

When there is more of a mix England are better, Owen with Hesky was inspirational during those 2 winning games, and its a damn shame Owen was off on injury because of that damn friendly game.

Heads will roll. But I for one would like Beckham to get his 100th cap, but sadly that doesn't look like that will happen.

    I am dancing with joy.

For years I can't stand the hype behind the 3 Lions, keep saying that they can win this and that, and come out nothing in the end. It's a breath of fresh air to tell the truth, it's like having a moment of paradise near at the sea side without annoying kids.

On the footie matter, I still believe Mcclaren should continue, or FA must stop their "zomg english coach only" mentality if they want to get back on track again.

*sigh* Just like our local badminton squad :roll2:

I have mixed feelings about this because the England national team was hit with injuries. E.g. John Terry, Hesky etc. However, IMO the national team is over-rated in recent times and English soccer is popular because of its league.

    I laughed.

A summer without every evening I spend in the pub ruined by loud mouth louts screaming at a screen.

Newpapers not getting a chance to make out we're going to crush everyone, ignoring the fact we're shit. Great stuff.

    NO!

They realised that day, that it was a mistake to make music without John Barnes.

I think that's a lesson we could all do with learning.

i think it can only be good for english football, a wake up call if you will. all english players are overpaid twerps who think they're better than they are.
