The only reason why people want it is because it was rare. If Hasbro would have shipped more in the US, they probably would have sat on store shelves like in the UK and we'd all be complaining about it.
Should we really be surprised there is an Ice version, as it seems the japanese like to give all their toys 40 something different paint schemes. It amazes me they have a market for it, but historically in the US, most repaints end up warming shelves
Damn, why all the hate? Overload was one of the cooler toys from Armada. I really wish Ultra Magnus was more widely available, I never saw it in stores, and was really hoping to get one. I still do, but I'm not crazy enough to be paying 40-50 bucks on eBay for him. I forgot about the ice one, that would have been nice to have too.
It was a TV Magazine exclusive, limited to 100 I believe. I've not seen one on E-Bay since I started looking for it, but then I don't look every day. It was featured as part of the BotCon 205 Rarities panel.
Quite possible, though he is a good toy, even if he did more or less kill Ultra sized TFs over here. I eventually got one at sale prices over a year after he first hit the shelves.
To the Brits in the audience that talk about the glut in your discount stores: make yourself some easy money and help your North American friends out.
I did that. I used Energon Ultra Magnus in a few trades with an online store and got about 80% of my Energon figures that way. I have 1 EUM left, but I'm not sure what I want to do with it.
I want one, but not because its apparently rare, but simply because I need one to complete the Energon line along with Omega Sentinel. Besides I think Overload is a cool toy and I love the Tfing sound!
thanks man...i want that ice one...and the clear one...then i need sentinal maximus and the costco overload, then ill have an overload(ed) army....how much do the crystal and ice magnus usually go for?
Thing is though, for the UK'ers to even break even, People would have to pay around $40 for one, then shipping aswell, People in the U.S I'm sure wouldnt be willing to pay that much.
