I seem to recall hearing something from last year's Botcon (not to be confused with the one that happened this year) that they were possibly going to give this figure another go, due to how scarce he was... anything ever come of that? Or am I just imagining things?

Why do people still care? By today's standards its a pretty bad toy in a good colour scheme. Frankly, I think people just want it because they never found one themselves.

I like the figure, and like the looks of it in those colors; are those good enough reasons for you?

Edit: anybody got anything helpful to add?

Sorry, nothing helpfull to add, but I would like to see the figure re-released. I think it'd go well with my blue Super Pants.

At a panel at one of the Botcons, I don't recall which, a hasbro exec type, who's name escapes me at this moment, said 'I reserve the right to this toy for 'Universe''.

That's about all that's been said about it. It is an excellent toy, though. I love mine.

Damn. With Universe dead, that pretty much kills that possibility. Doubt they'd do it in Classics either, due to the Target exclusive. Oh well.

I believe it was mentioned as a possibility, but the ending of Universe kinda put a kibosh on any plans that might have happened

Personally, I don't feel the demand is really there. Since the end of Energon, Hasbro has created more collector driven venues for the character. Not only is a G1 version due in Titanium, but I believe Hasbro said they might revisit the character should Classics warrant a continuation

You answered your own question there. Had I never found one for myself I would certainly still be trying to get him. I don't take blind faith in anything other collector's say until I can experience the thing myself. I'm glad I didn't listen to anyone about this mold since I love mine. I don't think he's a bad figure at all. Sure he isn't the most amazing robot I've ever bought but he's pretty good to have originated from Armada. He also makes the transforming noise too. I drove my wife crazy with that for about a week or so.

I doubt they will. I think the only time they've re-released something because of rarity is in alternators, which really a collector's line. The Energon Magnus mold has appeared at least two other times (maybe three?) and even though that one deco was rare I can't see them doing that. It does look pretty nice though. Funny thing is, it has even less joints than the G1 Magnus.

The person who made the remark was Michelle Fields, I believe. At the time, she was head of Boy's Toys at Hasbro. She is no longer in that role, I believe she moved on to a different area of Hasbro (something very common). The chances of seeing that exact figure in that exact paint scheme again is slim to none.

I paid about $90 for the Toy Dream version of it, and then 2 months later saw it flood the shelves of the UK.

I like the Overload mold and have bought as many versions of it as I can find. Still have to find the Ice Magnus version and buy the Crystal version from the Magna Convoy giftset, but I'll get them all eventually.

A two pack with him and that bendy prime Ultra Magnus would be sweet.

Yeah, he seems to be something of a rarity, but I've seen shops with stacks of him for about £14.99 a piece, If I could grab a cheap Armada Powerlinx Jetfire, I'd snap up Magnus in a second, so I could have an all blue super Prime.

are these really that scarce in the states ? in the uk, at least where i am theres a huge number of them still floating around in some of the discount or cheaper stores. when released they were pretty much the bigger shelf warmers around over here, other than omega supreme and unicron that is.
