Yes, Ironhide, Demolisher, and Cyclonus are still annoying but the show on DVD seems to be better than what I watched on Cartoon Network.

I really don't know... I've seen roughly half of that series when I got the complete collection on DVD, and I really wasn't all that impressed with it.

Megatron, Starscream, and Scorpnok scenes are my favorite parts. I wouldn't recommend it as the series to get people into the cartoons but it works for background noise as I'm trying to organize my iTunes library playlists.

I absolutely HATED Kicker ("Ooo look at me, I'm an angsty teen!" say what you want about the humans in Bay's movies, but nothing can match the atrocity of the humans in the Unicron Trilogy) .... and the Animation for the Transformers (they looked so... I dunno... sterile and un-life-like).

Cyclonus and Demolishor were actually the highlights of that show for me.

In all fairness, the first seven or so episodes had potential.

It only went downhill after that.

Some one get this man a cold compress and make room for him to lie down! He's clearly sick with fever!

Once Shock-Blast is introduced it seems to be getting better.

Give it a few more episodes. You'll soon understand why Energon is the most hated TF show ever. It starts off okay and stays that way for a little more than the first 26 episodes. It never achieves a moment of greatness (except maybe the Megatron/Scorponok fight... but it was so one-sided), but it's okay. Once the story shifts back to Cybertron though, it goes from slowly creeping downhill, to screaming down a 90 degree slope.

I thought I would be in the same place with Optimus always going to power mode, iron hide's whinning, Snow Cap's yolding, and Demolisher inability to pick a side but so far nothing has been worse than a mom on pot, humping dogs, a bf/gf teasining of who will say "I love you" first, and people dropping their pants before going on an undercover mission.

I really liked Superlink more than Energon. But I found the series as a whole to be entertaining. I especially like the opening feud for Megatron and Scorponok.

It's not the best Transformers series but it doesn't deserve the over-the-top hate like some people give it. ROTF doesn't deserve the over-the-top hate either. Like with all TF series & movies, it has it's good & it has it's bad.

My main complaint with Energon is near the end when they get the names mixed up.

I haven't seen it completely so I want to give the entire series a shot. I'm currently watching Aramda for the 2nd time.

I still think Energon started lukewarm and just took a nosedive so by the end it was a total wreck. Superlink was actually better, but that doesn't make up for the crappyness of most of the toys.

And what plot they did have before that was one of the most blatant instances of stretching something out so far beyond its natural length as to be ridiculous that I've genuinely ever seen in an anime.

I think DBZ still holds that honor IMO. I mean, 2 weeks + of watching Goku fight Frieza with most of the fights portrayed in blur lines. How that show is so popular is beyond me. I was yawning 5 minutes into it.

Yes. It takes a few episodes for them to make it through the 'Oh noes! the planet's gonna blow in 5 minutes!'...
