Has anyone had issues with the connectors on energon/universe bruticus/superion?

Being Translucent plastic I worry with use over time (the pressure and friction of connecting and dis-connection) that they may break. Mine are barely used and are loose.

Has anyone made replacements for these connectors in a stronger plastic, maybe in two pieces for easy installation?

    Let me know your thoughts.

I've had the Classics Devastator version for about five years, and it has passed through the hands of two four year olds with no issues pertaining to the connectors.

My ROTF Superion has a really loose energon connector on one of the shoulders. Move it a certain way and it'll pop out. Horrible. And sometimes the legs of my FP Bruticus randomly fall off.

It would be great if Hasbro could use locking mechanisms similar to MT Giant. Giant has the best and most stable connector joints I've seen on a combiner.

What do they function like? Are they pegs, or clips, or dovetail joints, or what?

You push a button when you want to connect or disconnect the limbs into the peg holes, but if you aren't pushing it the connector locks so you can't remove it.

Let's not start that "this company does this on a $X00 toy, I wish Hasbro would do it on a $10 toy" talk.

I haven't had issues with mine at all.

Me neither. Mine work fine combining them or separating them.

One of the shoulder connectors on my original Energon Storm Jet broke. However, it wasn't the clear blue plastic, but the gray plastic, specifically the shaft for the metal screw/pin.

Is it the blue male ends that's worn or the female connectors

That was Hasbro's homage to G1 Devy. Look at it funny and it falls apart

I have all three Energon releases, Nexus Maximus and the Classics and RoTF repaints and haven't had any issues at all.

Edit: Derp, just saw the original post date. Yay me for reading...

I've had my energon combiners since day 1 now. And i have no issues at all with any of the connectors on any of the combiners at all. :)

Though, Nexus Prime was a colossal piece of crap, which is why I sold him as soon as i could.
