How many of you use Energon Bulkhead as Springer? I'm considering buying him as a cheap substitue. He does resemble the character except he has a slightly different color scheme and he is not a triple changer. I would get him simpler weapons and repaint him a bit.

I'd think you could. The "brute mode" parts could be customized into car parts for an extra transform.

    He's a little big, though.

That's who I used until Universe Springer (the Cybertron Evac recolor) came out. Warbot Defender is now my Classics Springer.

I think the biggest issue is his head. A custom head would make it just about perfect. I love that figure.

One thing about that picture, though: It's very slightly mistransformed. The gray bits at his waist collapse forward a little, streamlining his torso. The upper thighs are also backwards. They should be twisted around so the screws don't show.

He has two things he has in common with G1 Springer - colors and one alt. mode. Aside from that, he really just doesn't feel very Springer-y to me.

I think that has been the issue for me for just about all of the official versions of Springer since G1.

I used to do this, but I decided I like Universe Springer more, so I sold Bulkhead.

Anyone ever use TFCC Over-Run as Runabout?

    I kid of course.

I recently sold Superlink Sprung, Universe Springer (Blades repaint) and Botcon Springer, as none of them feel right. I'm currently using Warbot, but even that leaves me cold, I would have preferred it as a separate character altogether.

To me, Bulkhead is a fantastic bot. I really loved him and the snow plow halftrack dude (Land Quake? I forget his name) I wound up buying both Bulkhead and his repaint Quickstrike as well as both snow plow dudes.

I remember when previews of Energon/ Superlink started showing up on the interwebs. I knew Bulkhead was gonna be my Springer from then on. He currently sits on my Wreckers shelf right next to Generations Kup and Blurr.

You aren't the only one. I plan on using that Tomahawk remold coming out this year. Seeing as how he's a Classics mold AND he's called Springer. Well, until they do an adequate Springer, then I'll give him a different head and he'll be the Battle Gaia Vortex

    Landquake(white Deco) and Landmine(orange). I got Landmine last night for $11 :D .

I am one of those people who doesn't mind giving characters different name so long as they look similar to that figure.

If you have no problem using a UT character as Springer, why not just use the Evac that was decoed to BE Springer?

Warbot is a steaming pile of fail. That should never have left the drawing board.

I still use Universe Springer. He's not Perfect. But I think it suits the style of classics better than Warbot Defender.

What really helped him out lately is dark of the moon whirl. His Ratcheting arms and fist peg support that minigun. Now he's ready to take on Overlord.

Then again. As you can tell by my shelves. Though I collect everything. I don't have problems with mixing my universes. For me G1 never ended. It just expanded and created all these other fun universes to mingle with.

    Nah, you're not alone.

I remember the good old days: When people could accept a figure for who it was, instead of forcing circles into box slots(err...pun kinda intended).

I'm perfectly content to own Bulkhead AND wait for Hasbro to come through with a 3-mode Generations Springer post-FOC.
