I was looking at Energon Battle Ravage today, and I realised, mine doesnt have the Decepticon symbol on his white shoulderpad thing, but the Battle Ravage my friend has does. Was this a variation, a rarity?

If so, which is rarer, the Factioned, or Non-factioned?

One is probably an earlier version, making it a running change, or the Japanese version. Sorry I can't remember the specifics.

No, both were bought in the U.K, at the same time, in Tesco's.

I've seen more of the non-shoulder sigil version than the one with in the U.S. I myself have one of each, and only because I just happend across one with the shoulder sigil at a local Target.

I think there was a running change with the neck piece... Maybe the faction symbol was part of the running change?

I know the Battle Ravage I got when Energon first came out has no faction symbol, but the one I got six months later DID have it, I recall them both having fairly even distribution though.

Oh thanks all, I thought one would be a rare variant.

My experience with that faction symbol was that none of the single releases I ever saw had them. The double packs that were everywhere for the longest time did though. I bought one of the double pack versions. I like my figures to have the faction symbols. For some reason I would have felt ripped off without it. I do believe the factioned one would be more rare since the initial assortments were put out in much higher numbers than the later waves and assortments.

the japanese version has a green gun, and the faction symbol I believe.

There was a running change in the Hasbro version much like the various Bendy-primes.

Yep, running change. The faction-less one is the more show accurate, although the factioned one would also make sense after Megatron made the Terrorcons his personal army.
