The end of the school year is upon us! Anyone make unbelievable grade...good or bad. Funny stories? Crazy Teachers? Let's make yhis a fun discussion!

    For me:
Stright A's in English & Hns Biology: passed with an 84-c in hns spanish 3 with Mrs. SD (era un clase muy muy muy muy dificil): And waiting on Art(lord help me :(  )

Story: nothing really, este ano era muy aburido.(this year was very boring)

Teachers: I had the some bio teacher my mom had. This lady has been teaching over 30 years!

What's 84-c? Is an 84 a 'C' in your school system, or was that just a typo?

Also, my program runs year-round. I won't be posting a celebratory thread until DEC08.

6 courses this past semester. Only got 1 C, but that was in statistics, which, to this day, confuses the ever-living bejesus out of me.

Finally pulled my GPA up above the 3 level. I'm really proud of that, because this degree has been HAAAAAAAARD. I was floating along on a 3.5-3.6 the whole time that I was doing the English degree. I've been eating a lot of humble pie over the past few semesters, gradewise.

Do you know the logic behind your school/administration using that scale, and not the more traditional 100-90-80-70? Is it to counter grade inflation or what?

Thats not too bad. When I was in school the scale was

    100-94 A
    93-88 B
    87-80 C
    79- 70 D
    69- F

And yes, NC or should I say Asheboro is crazy (Only visited once and was kicked out of the town).

The school I teach at does not have that scale but I wish we did. By law, if a student gets a D- in a class (that would be 60%) they get to go onto the next class. An average of 60% means you did not master the course and will more than likely fail the next class. Yes I know there are other factors, like not getting along with a teacher, bad home life, etc... that could have affected that grade.

Its kinda like in college where you have to get a C or higher in your core classes in order to get credit for them.

I'll probably fail English and science again. I can't stand reading and writing, and I don't see what making a large colorful poster has to do with my comprehension of the English language. And I can't stand my Biology teacher, because she gives these, to me, pointless and confusing assignments. I wish I cared more. I really do. But I don't.

    Hooray for next year!

Wasn't enrolled for the spring semester, but in the fall I got a bunch of C's and 1 B+, dropping my GPA low enough to get me back on academic review for my scholarship (I have to maintain at least a 2.8, my GPA was a 2.76). I'm currently in summer school, but it doesn't look like I will get back above a 3.0 until the next spring (not taking classes in the fall b/c of Co-op.) What really sucks is that even if I get a 4.0 this summer, my GPA will be like a 2.98, and I can't get back a scholarship I lost after my less than stellar sophomore year :(

First exam today, followed by 5 more over the next two weeks. Today I believe is Advanced Computational Quantum Mechanics - talk about an imposing title.
