Was the Hasbro Panel saying that Junkheap and Black Shadow will be the last of the Generations line altogether or just for 2011?

The picture just says 2011, but I've heard people saying its the end.

And regardless, they've said over and over for YEARS that "the classics aesthetic will continue" so you really have nothing to worry about.

Even if it ends there still would likely be another classics style line to replace it like it did the last 2.

I couldn't care less if Generations ended. It was a pretty disappointing line anyway. Many of the better Classics figures came out in RtS anyway.

I hope that they get some new molds for 2012. The Junkion one just pisses me off. I think RTS Wreck Gar is a too-unique mold to reuse.

Just the last for 2011, although with the distribution issues some people in the US may not see them on shelves until 2012.

With all that has been going on in 2011 it's really nice that they were able to release a few more Generations figures before the year was out.

We'll see what next year brings, but somehow a wave of repaints only feels a bit like they've got the line on life support.

We'll have to see some better pictures of Junkion though. Some people are saying it's a new head, but that one picture looked like the same head to me with different paint. Clearer pictures will easily resolve this.

A new head will be nice if it happens, but the picture from the panel makes me doubt it.

I think it's pretty obvious that they are devoting a lot of their resources towards Prime. And I'm fine with that. Mind you, this is from the opinion of someone who only, currently at least, collects figures with the Classics aesthetic.

Given the rise of 3rd party companies, especially in the last 5-6 months, I'd be fine with Hasbro releasing a handful of new molds for CHUG figures per year, and having 3rd parties taking care of the rest of the fandom.

I think Hasbro has found something unique with TF Prime in that they have devoted enough time and energy to not only make a show that appeals to both old and new fans, but also produce toys that are show accurate. The latter of which is something that the fandom considers when purchasing toys.

But... isn't the opposite like, the whole idea of the Junkions? We were supposed to get that army-building remold. (well for those who like to armybuild, that is)

I doubt it will go away entirely. But this always happens when one of the movies comes out; we go through a period where there aren't a lot of 'old school' figures coming out. This is nothing new from where I sit.

....also, I think graymer makes a good point about the third party companies. Lots of good CHUG stuff coming from them these days.

Considering they mentioned that they'd been discussing a Generations Arcee for a bit?

Yeah, Generations won't end any time soon. Just a brief break, like Classics and Universe before it.

You mean like the last wave of 2010 (Blurr and Dirge)?
