    Not sure if this has been done yet but what are some of the G1 figures which you wish TakaraTomy would reissue under the Encore line?

    List your top 5!

    I'll start with:

    5. Computron
    4. Abominus
    3. Dinobots (any)
    2. Wheeljack
    1. FORTMAX - Please, please please with a cherry on top of it. Let people own him without having to sell their first born!

    I think I've pretty much wished for many "grail" figures to be reissued. :lol

    I'd want all of them reissued of course, but here's my top 5:

    1-Shockwave
    2-Hound
    3-Trailbreaker
    4-Cassettes for Soundwave
    5-More minibots

    Dinobots, Insecticons, combiner team, autobots cars, bring them all :)

    Is there any indication that the Encore line is actually going to CONTINUE after Metroplex?

    I'd been wondering that myself. We should have been due an update ages ago... I meant we knew about 8-12 before 7 was even released, didn't we?

    This could go like the Transformers Collection line. Originally new releases would be announced left and right before the four preceding releases had even come out.

    Then new toys would become announced more and more sparsely.

    Then there'd be one toy released, the next one announced a month later, and when it had come out, that was it.

    Or take the Beast Wars Telemocha line. Simply ended with little fanfare after Takara had only released two thirds of a combiner.

    I guess the Encore line will also end that way. There might be one or two more new toys coming out, but they're gonna be stretched a lot. There might even be a brief resurrection (see Binaltech), but Encore's days as a prestigeous line with new toys every other month seem to be numbered.

    I'm inclined to agree. I wonder whether a lot of the problem is due to the molds they've chosen to release - it seems that they've released a lot that the fandom has gotten really excited about - namely Sky Lynx, Omega Supreme and Metroplex, but then have balked at the prices to actually acquire them and waited for them to "go on clearance". Which is a shame.

    Locus: ppl always want G1 stuff both reissued and vintage but dont want to pay for it. so of course $100 for a minty working Omega suprem is to much.. it should never be more then 40 according to some ppl in here.

    Tomy screwed up releasing 3 large figures right after one another, so the only choice they really have is to reissue some regular figures as a buffer or cancel the line. It would be great if they chose the former, and moved forward with some characters we've been asking for over and over and over for years.

    What always bothers me about reissues is the conflicting stories we always get about cost. I hear over and over and over how ludicrously expensive molds are and why we can't have the most minor of retools and so on. And you know what, I buy this, because I've tried to do it and it's a real burden for some amateur in his garage. But then, suddenly, the most magical thing happens and everything reverses. Now molds that have been paid for several times over sit idle because making the toys is too expensive or, if somebody feels like doing it afterall, they're priced, indexed against inflation, as if they're still manufactured in Japan instead of China and that investment is still being recouped.

    I can see the reissuing of the usual suspects (ie. the much reissued Diaclone Autobot cars) as possible since the moulds are available, but is there a market for them still?

    * Dinobots
    * Shockwave
    * Combiners from both sides.
    * More Autobots cars.

    first off,i'm in the group that really wants to see this line continue and continue for a long time. having said that,i think it woulda been cool if they were a little unpredictable and started the line with maybe a devastator giftset or a dinobot just to kinda shake things up a bit. instead they just do the whole prime,megs,soundwave,and screamer thing(not that i'm complaining) to start off with. that's all fine and dandy but how many primes are out there already? tfc,hasbro,encore,and the universe reissue one coming up. since reissues are geared more towards the collector why not give us the ones that more rare like a combiner,autobot car,etc.?

    I have three lists, based roughly on the chances it might actually happen...

    Realistic:

    - Ramjet
    - Thrust
    - Trailerbreaker

    Less Likely:

    - Fortress Maximus
    - Dinobots
    - Cyclonus
    - Scourge
    - Wreckgar
    - Springer

    Impossible or Virtually Impossible:

    - Jetfire
    - Shockwave

    I'd add Hoist, Dirge, and Red Alert to that. Anything that came out as a convention exclusive in 2001 really. Possibly a G1 toy coloured Bluestreak.

    Shockwave could be one of the ones that, like Omega and Skylynx, are in Tomy's back catalogue. Just a theory though.
