Alright, so I've been thinking about buying some of these, but whats the difference between them and OG G1 figs? I heard someone say they were all plastic instead of metal which is a turn off right from the start.

    Any input?

No, they certainly have die-cast. They're pretty close to the originals, and I don't know of any real difference, other than that their faction symbols are tampographed (but do include the stickers if you prefer those). They're nice and sturdy, as well, and over all, are definitely worth the money :thumb

Whoever told you they were all plastic is an idiot.

They are near-identical to the originals and certainly worthy of a place in any collection. Certain figures have some minor cosmetic differences - e.g. Jazz, Trailbreaker and Hoist have their visors in different colours than the originals, Omega Supreme has a face now, the Minibots have better painted faces etc.

    I would recommend Encore!!

I'd recommend Encore too. They do have diecast, and almost identical to the originals.

Some of them have different colored optics, like MM mentioned. To better match their cartoon counterparts, I think.

    Anyways, definitely worth the money!

as others have pointed out they all have their diecast parts

its just thinks like faction logos being paint apps on some and they changed the colours on minor parts to get closer to the animation model like Screamers canopy. also BB has his reissue face and not the original face mask personally I didnt mind that but some might not be so keen on a new face for what's a reissue.

As others have said differences are only cosmetic. The figs themselves are the same.

Encores are a nice throwback to G1 with their old school boxes.

As mentioned the toys have some sticker/tampograph, paint, and colour changes, but these are generally seen as improvements. The changes are to be more anime-accurate, it's the same with Henkei in that respect.

Great way to pick up the original toys.

Sweet, thanks for the intel guys! I'll more than likely pick up an Encore Omega Supreme here in the near future and let you guys know how I like it.

I have a pretty good deal of G1 stuff from my childhood still, and all of it is in great condition aside from sticker-wear (thank god for reprolabels!). There are just certain ones that I wanted that were damn near impossible to find where I lived as a kid(bumfudge Kentucky) that I'd like to have, but theres no way in hell I'm spending that much on a G1.

So, yeah, thanks again, you guys are always so damn helpful!

I recently got Encore Sky Lynx and was kinda disappointed his gold grid patterns and faction logos were still stickers and not tampos. Don't get me wrong, I love stickers for TF but I think this would've been a good figure to go full tampo on.

The differences between original G1 and Encore are very minor, and definitely for the better. I have Ratchet, Sky Lynx & Omega Supreme, and the quality is superb on all 3 of them. I'll be on the lookout for more Encore stuff at Botcon this year for sure.

Basically a type of paint application that on some encores replace what were originally stickers... so no peeling, no sticker wear, no misalignment
