    There's a bio for Transformers Visual Works Book mail order Ratchet Emergency Green (long name :lol ) in the publisher's site.

    http://www.millionhero.jp/tf/

    Ratchet Emergency Green

    Faction; Cybertron
    Function; Autobot Medic
    "If you destroy, I'll just rebuild"

    Background;

    Ratchet is known as a mechanical repair genius and capable of fixing almost all Cybertrons as long as he has required equipments and parts. His usual manner is rough though he treats his patients with care, and the soldiers at the front line have the utmost trust in him.
    Ratchet has grown concerned about the increasing number of humans whose lives are at risk as the war (between Cybertron and Destron) intensifies, and he invented a new equipment to save human lives.

    Abilities;

    Ratchet's whole body is covered with a special screen which contains nanomachine. When he is exposed to an extreme situation, it (the screen) activates its special ability to protect the injured passengers inside.
    It turns green like a plant gives out a beautiful glow because of photosynthesis. His Cybertron comrades named the beautiful body colour "Emergency Green", and praise Ratchet's willingness to save and protect every life form.

    So remember, green is beautiful :D

    Also a prototype of the toy is on display in Akihabara;

    Yeah, mine's on preorder. I can't explain it either.

    Still, setting the G1 mold in the Movieverse while giving it a classic '84-style 'superpower' in the tech specs is kind of a neat fanwank, though.

    The Mystery Machine is an appropriate homage, for Ratchet's voice actor, Don Messick, was also the voice-actor for Scooby-Doo.

    I wish this was a mass release toy. Or have the money for it. Oh well, maybe I can get him some day.

    That's actually a pretty solid bio. I'm still only getting the normal release. (If I can even bring myself to go so far)

    I so want it but..... The lightbar should be red not blue. Red is for emergency equipment, blue is for police only.

    Nice redeco. And it does look like the Mystery Machine. Delta should do some reprolabels for it.

    Snow removal is yellow and white rotating. At least that is how it is around here. State Patrol in most states (I can't say all) are blue or blue and red, or blue and white. Oh and green is usually security

    another repaint on a robot without a head and deformed body. I just love the explanations they give a repaint in order to convince collectors to buy it. reminds me of the explanation they gave for jetfire's voice in cybertron. apparently, jetfire went to another planet and that's how his voice changed. and then everyone in the fan world was like, hmm okay that makes sense. but I find it funny how someone just made up that explanaton and everyone fell for it. the real reason is they changed voice actors, duh! lol
