Happy Day! It's just a cutout, but it's something. I thought they should mold a new piece with the head and neck to somehow clip onto it, but this is all right.

Eh. I'll wait for a 'Classic' Ironhide and Ratchet. This is good news for those that want the old figures with real heads as opposed to a those goofy sticker face/car seats.

    Infinitely excellent!

I like 80s originality and all, but the dopey sticker faces on the old toys are a big part of the reason I wasn't that motivated to hunt down a set of originals before the Encores were announced. Really lookin forward to seeing how these turn out.

I guess I'm the minority so far when I say: I hope these heads are optional.

I would rather have the original heads instead of (IMO) the goofy show heads, especialy if they sit above the windsheild.

I just want a G1 Ratchet without having to pay for a vintage one. Nothing more, nothing less.

    The new heads are optional.

...have you SEEN the original faces?

I had these as a kid. I hated the sticker seat faces lol. I will wait to see what the Classics/Universe 2.0 ones will look like.

*edit* nevermind, I didn't click on all of the links.

*edit part 2* I STILL don't see any clear indication that there are any paper heads that come with these. there's that one pic of ironhide with a head, but that looks like the cartoon model.

Yes, and I prefer them. The cartoon heads don't fit with the designs IMO, and if these are positioned above the windsheilds, then they will throw the shoulders off.

Now if they were just stickers that replaced the faces but left the heads, that wouldn't be as bad to me.

Even if they aren't optional, it shouldn't be a problem since they're just made of paper.

Definitely a step in the right direction for these figures. The old sticker head is plain weird. I liked when War Within paid homage to the G1 toy designs though, tying them in to the TF universe, but ultimately this pair deserve the Classics treatment.

Kinda looks like Reprolabels' custom sticker set - another idea by Delta being used by either Hasbro/Takara?...

They should've just replaced the seat with a new-mold 360 degree rotating head that can be hidden in vehicle mode IMO... would've sold much better.

I still think JustiToys would have a market for such a thing. This is better than nothing and was completely unexpected when I pre-ordered.

If the paper had been plastic, I'd be all over these two. Oh well, Reprolabels gave faces to my G1 Irohide and Rachet anyway. :D

Depending on how it looks, I'll probably stick with reprolabels. Though I'd rather have a comic colored Ratchet head.. (red helmet, white forhead)

Think I'll be sticking with the 'original' seat faces - Those two-dimensional heads are going to look pretty bad on three-dimensional characters and the shoulders will appear ludicrously low.

I guess they're offering something new, which is good, but I think changing the original toy (adding blue eyes to Sideswipe/Inferno, changing Starscream's colors, etc.) defeats the purpose of a reissue. For me anyway, the point of a reissue is to get an old-school toy without having to pay for one.

With Ironhide/Ratchet, I hope the windshields aren't blue or something like that. A clip-on paper head is fine, even if it will still look strange and won't stand the test of time. Just my two; not trying to rain on anyone's parade.
