If they released these in single packs, I would bite. Got a bunch of loose ones with all combiner pieces except hook. Hook is the hardest to find in good condition.

Considering that no toys have been released in the US under the "Encore" banner...

Sounds exciting! I'm up for it.

So, how long before someone is going to start screaming "THEY NEED TO DO FORTRESS MAXIMUS NEXT! YEEEEESSSSSSSS!" ?

I loved the encore line. The only thing that made me sad about it was the Sunstreaker's damaged mold couldn't be reproduced.

Hmmmm, I already have an original, albeit not complete, but do I want to spend over a hundred bucks on a reissue? It would be cool to have a nice new Devastator box to open, it would be like I was five all over again.

I want one but not for $130. I'll wait till it goes down to $90-$100 cause really... When hasn't a reissue gone down in price?

I don't know, but isn't Bruticus hard to find now for the original reissue price?

the Japanese Yen has been slowly climbing in value over the last few years and ever since the quake Japanese exports have become more expensive since exporters/importers need to fill their orders with fewer ships and more space being taken up buy items needed for the reconstruction thus the cost is past onto us.

Now TF's are made in china but are given a RRP based on their Japanese retail (that is subject to the more expensive import costs) so what we see is the price Japan pays and why is not cheaper for us is simple.... if all the suppliers are selling them for about the same price why lower it when we will still pay.

I'm just happy they are keeping the "ENCORE" title. I don't care how often they release items as long as they keep it going. Now do I want a single 3rd party piece (Hercules Exgraver)or one new Encore Devy Gift set?

    Encore combiners

Yes, that's true. I didn't pick up Bruticus back when he was first reissued with the Encore line. I think his original price point at eretailers was $89? In the last year or two I've monitored ebay auctions, and he has become harder to find unless you are willing to pay for overseas shipping. He typically goes for around $110 now, plus another $20 or so for shipping. So you are typically looking at about $130 there. The thing is, it is pretty rare that ebay will get a MISB piece that is located in the US now. Most are located overseas.

At Botcon, I saw a few of these, one seller was asking for $200 for them, or maybe it was $190. Anyways, I was pretty stunned. I ended up finding him for around $130 or so from another seller? The seller wouldn't compromise at all, in fact, later in the day, that same seller had a second Encore Bruticus marked at $165. I think there is a decent chance he might have actually gotten that price, too! TF inflation is a bummer sometimes, unless you already own the piece and are hoping that it appreciates like a stock.

    Encore Devastator

This is great news, one two levels. One, as ppl have pointed out, it means they are keeping the Encore line alive. That gives us G1 folks hope that more reissues will be forthcoming. Second, I love the Devastator toy, and will be happy to get one MISB. $130 isn't cheap, but I'll take it, for an MISB version. I paid considerably more on ebay for a MIB piece a few years back.

Pass. $129.00 before the mark up and shipping. I could buy a vintage Devastator in great shape for that price.
