Thanks Jazz Meister, for taking the time to do all these comparison shots!
You've helped me, and I'm sure many others with deciding whether to get this set or not. :D

Not sure if you can tell in the pic, Hook stays together better since they
added the little T shape knob.

Okay the both kinda lean forward, but Encore Chest sits up higher regardless

Added tabs on Long Haul help for combined mode. Also much harder
to align the top and bottom halves.

Keep up the good work Jazz Meister. :thumb

It's good to see the slight changes that have been done to the encore. Which for the most part help it, in my opinion.

THANK YOU!! I thought I was the only one wondering WTH was going through their collective minds.

They are already a fair amount of purple plastic! The other window is purple an inch away!

It's like they don't want us to finally have THE SET. Maybe they plan to re-releases it over and over again. There'll be a U.S. Edition. An edition with parts similar to CD's. Then a final edition.

I still would like to have one. But I'm waiting to see if my sister already ordered me one for Christmas. If not, I will order one after the holidays.

I have the KO version and I have been pleased with it except the stickers.

aww dammit, just when everything seems okay, TT had to f-up the head. Of all the things I did not notice..mother %@#4^&!! :(
Sigh, might be mould degradation or loss of the mould for the combiner head. On the look out for Vintage Devy once again, then..thanks JazzMeister. :thumb :

the mouth isnt quite the same as the vinatge, its got a bit of a sour puckered look over that sly smile! however i personally wouldnt hold that against a reissue that is overall well done. If i hadnt seen the heads side by side i'd never have known there was much different about it.

I think its an entirely new mould, the tomy only stamp might suggest that plus I think if the toys are mapped precisely next to each other they are not the same.

one of the threads in toy discussion might have it. (i think there are 2 devvy threads at the moment) admittedly the mouth is different but even the slightest change to a face renders a different expression, we are masters of face recognition!

bonecrusher slipping off the metal peg was the only obvious issue with mine but thats remedied easily with a bit of plastic round teh peg, might use nail polish or similar to make a permanent fix. All my stickers are fine, one or two not precise as i would have been but non badly applied.

Here you go. Vintage is on the left and Encore is on the right.

Since they are able to slightly remold the face of Bumblebee for the Encore, why can't they do a remold head of Devastator to a more cartoon accurate head?

Bumblebee's face was remolded earlier, for the TF Collection minibots set.
Yeah, I agree they could have done a more cartoon accurate head with a visor.

^Also, the shape of the head is somewhat slightly different? Smiley Devy VS Murder Devy! :lol  Im guess I can scour Ebay for just the vintage head part.
