He's an Ultra Class on paper, which from the time he came out would be around a modern Leader class, yes. Although he has a ton of mass to him, so he's somewhere between the old Ultra and Super classes.

I didn't translate it, but the auto translation from Autobase Aichi makes note that they had to case a lot of extra parts for this figure in order to get the coloring right. As some parts are gang molded together that needed to be different colors in order to get the anime accurate look down.

Confused by what you mean “case a lot of parts”

Sorry, cast not case. Parts previously tied together are cast in multiple colors in order to get the correct look. With the extra parts discarded / recycled.

Surely it would be cheaper to just paint them the right colour...

It's not just cast in different plastic it's completely different. Just look at this...
And it seems it was that way in the cartoon as well.

May I rise a question and ask if the Encore reissue is going to use the original mold from the BWNeo version or the Universe Nemesis mold?
I ask because there is a slight difference between the hook-missiles and the panels in which the launchers are build in. Also the storageplace for the tonfas is different on the Universe mold compared to the original mold.
I am just asking because Takara also showed us the original Fire Convoy on the promotional pictures but used the Hasbro retool of the mold.

The Collector Club Ultra Mammoth was the last use of the mold. If that has the same changes that were present on Nemesis, it’s possible the Encore release of Big Convoy will be using that same version of the mold.

In that case we can't really tell what will happen, right? ;)

Having to remove the hook missiles wouldn’t be the end of the world for me if that’s the only "issue" this figure has, but I would much prefer if they can be stored in beast mode like on the original release.

Thought I'd ask here since Big Convoy fans would know best. I have a Korean? version of Big Convoy from awhile back. What are these things worth nowadays?

I’ve seen boxed ones going for $100 or more on ebay. I’ve seen loose ones go for almost as much. Someone posted here recently about getting a loose one for under $50 though.

No, they were the Korean ones. This was a few weeks ago, and they were going for as much as the Japanese ones. Originally they were cheaper but they’re not as common as they used to be.

Once out of the box there is no difference between the Takara and the Korean versions of any of those Transformers from back then.

    Ebay:
I lucked out and got a complete one for $45 complete w/papers.

I've been eyeing for a while and was literally about to hit a "Buy It Now" on Ebay for $90 MISB, but I hesitated for a couple of hrs and the auction I won hit.
