Well historically, Grand Max came out before Metrotitan did :D

I wonder if the IDW comics is enough of an influence that Takara will consider putting out Metrotitan despite Metroplex's slow sales.

    Hi guys!
Got my Fort Max from a seller on Amazon a couple days ago (last minute purchase and SO glad I took the plunge). The box was near mint, figure is great...and box was double-taped version. Ha ha.

Unfortunately, I noticed that one flap is missing under his right arm (one of the two covering the elevator). SIGH! Can anyone help me obtain this flap? I contacted the seller...haven't heard anything yet (and have a feeling I might not at all). Please PM me if you can help.
Thanks and I appreciate the time,
    Chris

You're missing the point here. Fortress Maximus has enough recognition to warrant a reissue, while Grand Maximus is about as obscure a repaint as Metrotitan is, and being so much smaller, I'd expect Metrotitan would be a lot cheaper to produce.

    Yikes.

You've made sure it's not just loose somewhere in the box? "Missing parts" is def. the worst QC issue :(

I hardly think Grand is as obscure as you think. He came out in a TF series that was shown in numerous places in Asia, and was a multple episode cast member. Contrast that with Metrotitan who showed up in a few pages of a comic series that only came out in Japan.

I don't think cheaper to produce is necessarily what Takara is factoring in when deciding to reproduce toys, otherwise we'd have gotten tons of Micromaster re-issues already. My guess is, they weigh in the big ticket price as well, and if they think it's profitable because of prjected demand, then they'll put out one and as far as I know Grand Maximus is on a lot more people's want lists than Metrotitan is.

If worse comes to worse, you can always find one of those on eBay. I've seen them on there before - I think they run somewhere between $10 to $15 shipped.

    Sorry though - that sucks.

Orlando is a Hub for FedEx. Not surprising at all. They can't fly over your house and drop it with a parachute. As cool as that may sound.

Dude, LOVE the picture!!! Super cute kid, and an awesomely sweet FM box. I was hoping to get a pic like this as well, but my youngest is now 1, and considerably larger than he used to be. I will try sitting him up next to FM when I get my FM.

Indeed it is, Grand Max is something I'd get in a heartbeat, could care less about Metrotitan. Grand Max was a big:) p) character in Masterforce.

I know this is going to get blasted but...

Did anyone else have Max as a kid? I was super super lucky, and got him for Christmas in 87 (88?). BEST CHRISTMAS EVER.

Suffice it to say I still remember what the quality of plastic was like, and what the dude was like to play with.

And, let me preface this with "I know this is an Encore", but I'm really disappointed with the quality of the plastic on this reissue. I've owned Encores before (Megatron, Soundwave, Trailbreaker, Soundblaster...) and the are almost identical to the originals I feel.

But this guy...for $300...honestly he almost feels like a knockoff. I'm going to hang on to him for a while and then decide if he's worth keeping but, I'm bummed.

    1st world problems.

I had this guy on preorder for several months and then cancelled due to money becoming tighter and tighter. But, recently came across some extra funds and ordered him yesterday. Should hopefully get him from BBTS very soon.
