It comes from Takaratomy official twitter.
oh yay. another reissue of a reissue
would sure love to see something new makes it way out, in terms of reissues
I love the new Cassettes. Does he have the Blaster chest or the Twincast chest? The tampographed Autobot symbol makes me think Blaster.
And it will. These "reissue of reissues" come out during the long gap between molds that haven't previously been reissued before.
I quite like the repaints of the cassettes. Too expensive for me to own but I like that they are released. I look forward to all new repaints of G1 molds, even if the mold itself has been reissued over the past few years.
Plus this figure was an e-Hobby exclusive before. So not easily acquired. They obviously made changes to it too beyond the new Cassettes.
I wonder if his face is yellow.
Maybe you're right: I think i see more yellow on the artworks face than on the original box?
Well the original figure had a silver face with gold eyes in the art, this one has yellow with blue.
So yeah this one must have a yellow face with blue eyes instead of silver with gold. Nice!
I really want black Steeljaw. decisions, decisions....
The boxart looks good
As much as I love the new casettes, I really wish I didn't have to track down the eHobby one (and have to try sell a spare Twincast) just to get Flip Sides. I'd really have liked it if Filppy had been included here.
If they're going with the yellow face, then it looks like they're going for Animation-accurate color schemes... which means the early pics we saw of Soundblaster's clear cassette cover are correct. Bummer.
I imagine a lot of people feel the same way as you, but then there would be no appeal to the original e-Hobby exclusive. TakaraTomy probably wants that one to remain special therefore there are changes to Twincast here and Flip Sides is forever an e-Hobby exclusive (as that mold at least).
At least they included two newly colored Cassettes this time around.
I've got the ehobby Twincast and Flipsides, and I can tell you if this one didn't have the new cassettes, I wouldn't be buying it.
Of course it does, it's G1 art.
Yeah, I think that's the logic here. It hasn't been that long since the last Twincast, and you can still get it for not much more than retail. The casettes are the real draw here.
I wonder if this means we might get some more cassettebots reissued. I'd love a new Squawktalk to replace my beat up one, and I'd like to replace my Slamdance, Legout and Decibel KOs with the real deal.
I'm tempted by all 4 of the new repainted tapes, but I already have the previous reissues of Soundblaster and Twincast.
I hope we do. I somehow managed to get two versions of Beast Box's guns so my Squawktalk is weaponless.
And if the Dino tapes got reissued I'd be pre-ordering them right away.
I really really dont get why they dont release those Japanese exclusive cassette tapes ( dinos ). That would get me to buy this set or any set for that matter in a second
I really really want things like that !
Probably because the tooling isn't available or they have plans for them later.
I want this and Soundblaster.
