Looks like Elias stayed true to his word in suing Hasbro.
this is still bull. this guy is fighting a brick wall. botcon toys are still exclusive. ya they are the same character but, there is different paint jobs done to the Generations toys. so this makes it that the botcon toys are still exclusive. why would you sue the company that provides your hobby? does this guy want hasbro to let the g1 seekers die because they are botcon exclusives now?
I missed most of this story, but this is sad.
Still doesnt seem legit. Spelling errors by the second page?
If it is real though, wow. I think we may have found the most colossal bellend in the entire fandom. We've had some real contenders over the years, but this guy takes the cake.
can we say crybaby? i hope this guy never shows at another botcon lol.
they are totally different, seriously get over it.
wish i had these problems to worry about in life.
I just took a look at the pleadings. I actually went to law school with a Steve Weskerson. Not sure it's the same guy (but how many Steve Weskersons can there be really). Guy was tool back in school and it doesn't surprise me that he'd be dumb enough to try this crap now. Also the typos would be right up his alley.
I'll check my alumni directory and call him. The hearing was supposedly today. Should be good for a laugh at least.
Yea, I think this is someone just looking for attention, try googling the Law Office at the bottom of it, or even just the name "Steve Weskerson". I find it hard to beleive that a law office would have no online presence, court documents, rulings, etc.
Anyone else notice Elias and his lawyer are related?
yeah i googled it too and even the address and google list no such law office at that address.
there are a few other things in there that lead me to this is fake. and how would something like this be made public?
So at the point where his legal expenses exceed the loss in value of his collectible is he gonna drop the suit? I really can't wrap my head completely around the idiocy of this suit.
No law firm in their right mind would have hired him. I'd bet he just hung a shingle and started to commit malpractice. err... I mean started to practice law.
Woah, I wonder if he'll sue me for signing his petition now.
No disrespect to the OP, but close this shit.....
What a joke. Anything for attention i guess.
He's suing as a private right of action under the New York deceptive practices statute. If he's got a claim, Hasbro would have to pay his legal fees. That being said, I'm not sure NY law would apply. There's a lot wrong here. I'm calling him now.
if he wins the world will end
its stupid because that figure has been released countless times with different paint schemes, you can't sue them now if you didnt sue takara for the henkei or the ko company for their tc. This kid is clearly not that bright
That's because his lawyer is his brother with a law degree.
AND share the same last name as the supposed plaintiff....
This story always gets better.
Man, this is the land of an open court system, You gotta expect to see crap like this, it caught more attention around the fandom because it relates to us.
Separate names with a comma.
