I really wanted Robert Patrick aka T1000 to be Barricade's hologram It would be all sorts of awesome, paying respect to one of the greatest action films back then even though Bay's got nothing to do with it. I wanted the general tone of the movie to be more serious than it turned out to be. It'd doesn't have to be joke-free, but I think some of the jokes were out of place (you know what I'm talking about), and the whole Allspark bringing life to virtually anything (hell even an empty coke can could be brought to 'life'). I'd prefer it if the Allspark was portrayed as an infinite energy source and the humans wish to harnass it's power for themselves, reflecting our greed amidst other flaws we have as a species. In a nutshell, I wanted TF to be all round entertaining for everyone, not just the fans, but also as a serious film in establishing a fantasy mytho, just like LOTR. Actually I'm just bored now that TF:A is over till season 3 and I need some place to let out my opinions and discuss
I wanted it to be more like a porno lol. Nah, seriously, it could have benefited from paying more attention to films with a slightly more coherent plot. Maybe a little bit darker too, but that's a minor complaint.
Stable cameras during the finale would have been nice. Many of the other films I've seen make sure that the action is framed appropriately in the shot during the climax of the film.
I would love to see some scenes like the ones in Hulk where he rips the car in two and bashes stuff with it. It would also be awsome to see some of the car stunts that they did in Wanted, only with TFs.
I think the question is, what elements from other movies would you NOT have liked to have been in TF1? They used part of a teen comedy flick A Herbie angle A semi-Blackhawk Down angle A pseudo-underground secret society angle A hackers angle A Godzilla angle (think mindless monsters breaking things) And finally the Transformers angle I think if they had cut down on all those things and instead focused on 1 or 2 of those, the movie would have been a lot more coherent. I don't want TF to ape anything else, I want it to blaze its own trail, failure or success.
Hmm, good post. If it were me, I'd narrow it down to military, government, transformers and teen. BTW- Why the hell does Megatron keep yelling his name?
Well there was this one scene from Brokeback Mountain that I thought could've been reenacted by Lennox and his team...
thats not even funny anyway i think i would keep it as is except jazz wouldnt die and i would cut back a little on the teen humor and angle and focus more on the TFs themselves
there should be some scenes where the transformers converse while in their alt mode. whereas sideswipe and sunstreaker talking to each other while driving or chasing a decepticon. Much like in the cartoon, they don't always talk in bot mode, they talk when their in their alt mode as well.
the latest die hard movie.....the raptor vs the diesel john mclane was drivin.....they shoulda done some hardcore shyt like that on TF
After watching Iron Man I got wanting some really sleek armored Transformers. But that's a hope for somewhere down the film franchise road since I don't expect anything Gundam-like any time soon.
There are lots of things I'd like to see, but none of them come from other movies. I realize they would've done more, had the budget allowed more. I tend to think that's why things didn't happen (particularly the one everybody screams about, which is the amount of screen time with Decepticons). With the bigger budget for part 2, I think there are going to be things that blow my mind.
I thought they did a really great job with the Iron Man designs. Iron Man and Iron Monger looked bulky, armoured and yet very detailed and it worked a treat. A similar aproach for Transformers would have been nice to say the least.
Erm, he yelled his name twice or thrice? If I was frozen for decades and I just defrosted, I wouldn't yell out my name as the first thing I'd do. I also wouldn't yell out my name as I land on some street.
Maybe it should had a more disaster feeling, like terminator, where if the protagonists doesn't suceed at their mission, all humanity would be doomed. But here it felt like the humanity could take the decepticons without much problem.
Elements from other movies that you wish could've been in TF's? hmmm,i'll take jon favreau from iron man or louis leterrier from hulk. if we would've gotten one of them i'm sure everything else would've fallen into place quite nicely.
Star Wars always managed to reference pass history through dialogue..."for a thousand generations the jedi knights..." or "I beat the kessel run in less then 5 parsecs". These little quotes make the story more believable and give the movie world a lot more depth! Cinematagraphy more akin to "Hero" and "Star wars". Each frame is almost like a painting in these movies. Subjects are framed well and have good bright or moody lighting. Drama and suspense ala Casino Royale. I always felt like James Bond was in danger of losing his life even though he was the main character. I never once felt that sorta high drama in Transformers. Jazz died, so what? I never felt prime would die. Bumblebee was about the only character you felt for, and even then they managed to make it a bit cheesy.
