First, I'm pretty happy with MP-10 so I don't *need* any upgrade. Even if I did, I won't pay $300 plus that TT is going to charge for this and I don't like where they've gone with the super articulated at the cost of too many panels and mess IMO.

MS-01 is more what I'd expect to pay for a nice Prime and I like how it looks. He's a little bulky but he looks strong like (in my minds eye) Prime should look. Assuming nothing weird happens as it moves forward, that's the one I'll probably get.

TE's isn't bad but something about the bot mode just isn't doing it for me and that's what my collection does 99.5% of the time....stay in bot mode (unless you're a dinobot).

 

All of them have their problems, to be honest:

MP Prime v3. does a good job at getting proportions right in both modes, but the figure itself looks like a mess of panels glued together and pretty much the entire transformation is a cheat. At the very least, I need the windows of the cab and chest to be the same part. And you know the MSRP on this guy is going to be eye-watering.

MS-01 is tempting....Maybe a bit wide in robot mode, but I think he's the best-looking of the three. Much cleaner sculpt than the official. That alt mode though....:



TE-01 looks decent in cab mode, but there's something primitive about the robot mode sculpt. Boxy and unsophisticated?

I didn't vote because at this stage, I'm not sure I'm impressed enough by any of these offerings to swap out my MP-10. If anything, I'm starting to appreciate him a bit more.

I know @Cheem The Rup did a nice set for us (as usual!)  

I just can't recall what thread I saw it in.

 

For me, I think TE-01 looks like the best prime (so far) I like the bot mode, has nice proportions and I just like how it looks ESPECIALLY THAT MATRIX SPOT!!!!

Looks boxy but it's good for me.

Takara is too early

MS-01, I don't really like the colors.

When Takara does...... anything.

 

TE-01 whats going on with the nose? There better not be a gorilla face under that mask!

 

Ya know, I should have added MP-10 to this debate because I feel people may stick to that one. I don't feel the need to upgrade but I wanted to have this discussion.

Better than Takara's no nose

 

After examining the Takara v3 since it's reveal, I'm starting to like it more than MP-10. I don't mind the panels and transformation 'cheat' on the Takara v3 as their MP-36 Megatron ended up great.

As for the price of the Takara v3, well, I think I'll wait for the KO, like what happened with MP-36. Unfortunately, I may drop my plans to buy MP-10 repaints, and wait for the inevitable v3 repaints, haha.

The other two 3rd party just doesn't look as good as the Takara v3, to me anyway.

 

I think I'll be getting a shattered glass ko, from how this looks and that it's the 35th anniversary, this will probably be higher or around Beast wars Megs.

 

I'm not sure, I like the look and proportions of the MS but I hope they fix the eyes.

The Takara probably has the best head, I like that it seems to resemble Prime's "Megatron must be stopped" scene in the movie.

 

Finally, someone else noticed how weird the MS-01's eyes look, I like how the Takara one's head looks the best. The face of the TE-01 looks, off

Ms's eyses are too big, and Te's are too small. TE's also need to be a bit closer to the edges of the nose.
I agree Takara has the best head sculpt.

 

Easy pass on all three. None look like a significant upgrade to MP-10, and none have the shelf presence of MP-01.

 

Agreed, MP-10 is good enough, MP-01 is just a big beautiful beast with a ton of shelf presence.

 

I'm getting all three, I am at the mindset that I need all the "MP" Primes in my life.
MP01 with MP05, MP10 with XTB Apollyon,
MP Prime V3 with MP 36, and these two are going together.

Can't beat Lewin for that (Though it is just a bigger MP-10) [Watch it be cheaper than the new Takara one though]
