So I am working on a costume that requires and eye patch with a camera in it that feeds to an led/lcd screen mounted in the chest so that every time it takes a picture the image shows up on the chest piece. is this even doable. looking for help on how to get started with this and what the basics might be. i know its a wierd idea but hey im a wierd guy.

I think your best bet would be to take apart a digital camera. Use the lens as the eyepiece and put the screen on the chest. You may need some extra wire to make sure everything stays connected but in theory that should work.

Go to a spy-gear shop. Buy one of their miniature cameras. Go from there.

Kill a Teletubby and raid it for bodyparts.

Or do the spy shop thing. While taking a digital camera apart is a good suggestion I personally would be concerned at ballsing it up when taking it apart and trying to get it to do what I wanted. A spy shop might be able to sell you exactly what you need without having to dismantle anything, or at least give you useful advice.
