bethesda has officially released daggerfall into the freeware market you can get it at elderscrolls.com (dosbox required) though personally i'd get it from fileplanet or the like as bethesdas servers seem to be very slow

 

Yeah I saw that earlier. I havent finished that game and so this just might be my chance, bwhahahahaha! Think I can get it to run with windows vista?

 

i'm pretty sure dosbox will work on vista and bethesda provides installation instructions though from personal experience once your done installing the included patch instead of typing "C:>dosgames\dagger\dagger.exe instead type "c:>dosgames\dagger\fall z.cfg" . as dosbox doesn't work right when it comes to cd-rom virtualization

 

I absolutely hated the dungeons in this game, just maddening. Nonetheless, I remember playing the hell out of it back in the 90's.

 

Now only if Blizzard would do that for Warcraft 2 or the first diablo (if it can even run on vista) .

 

I remember this as being the buggiest game I ever bought - free is too expensive.
(although I assume that by now the bugs have been fixed)

Very Very cool news. Can't wait to get home and get it. I hope it compensates for super fast computers, because last time I tried to install it, I got a mess (I still have the old CD rom)

 

well the download comes with a patch thats suppose to fix the bugs,wind if you have the disc still you could probably use that with dosbox
