Orci and Kurtzman brought in Kruger to assist with ROTF; it led to him getting DOTM and now TF4, so I assume he came up with some great ideas.

Does anyone know what plot elements Kruger contributed to ROTF please?

 

He's the one who came up with Devastator's balls.

actually, it was Bay who came up with that idea. Its even on the Special features dvd. They had the Dev design all ready to go and Bay stopped them and said I think this would look great and be funny if he had these large wrecking balls. You know and have one with a hook. Yeah, that was Bay's Idea.

After ROTF came out Bob and Alex tried to distance themselves from the crap ROTF turned out to be, and tried to put the blame on Kruger a bit, if memory serves. But Kruger did a good job with DOTM, especially with writing Sentinel.

 

I always thought of him as the dude that gave Prime his infamous murderous sounding lines, since the first movie's the only one without Kruger and it's the only one without said lines.  

 

I want to assume he is responsible for every juvinile joke that Bay didnt have improved on the spot. I hope if there is a sequel he will be let go. The man did horrible work with DOTM and should never be allowed near these characters again.

 

DOTM is far better than ROTF, unless you're on crack.

 

Actually I just listened to the ROTF commentary yesterday and either Kurtzman or Orci (don't know what voice belongs to what dude) took full credit for Devy's balls, so...

that funny because right on the video, Bay is looking at the Devs concept art that the artist shows him and Bay cuts him off and tell him HE has this idea to give Dev wrecking balls. So if the writers said that in the commentary, I think they were trying to take credit for something that in the end turned out to be stupid anyway.

I think we can all agree that no matter who's idea it was, the joke was ill-concieved and delivered terribly. There are those among its staff I'd consider more likely to have brought it up, but that's irrelevant.

Man I know I'm gonna sound like a broken record, but the TF team need to sit and watch The Avengers for a few lessons in dialogue and pacing most importantly.

Also I think a protagonist who sounds like his balls have dropped wouldn't go amiss this time around.

Wasnt that Michael Bay himself? Its weird, responsiblities always seem to change in the TF community depending on who to hate on next.

No, that was all John Turturro's idea.

 

It's rare writers ever claim the bad ideas as their own if they can help it. Unless something turned out so bad it ended up being good. Or they're just really proud of a terrible idea. It's best to try and find out who wrote or came up with what before the movie gets seen enough times that certain elements get widely tagged as bad or good, then no-one can deny a stinker or claim some fried gold. Difficult though.
