that is certainly the implication, if it's not outright stated in the Arcee spotlight.

More or less. It's why you haven't seen any other female cybertronian characters in the books. That pretty much burned any chances. So no slipstream, flareup, elita, etc.

"She" wasn't male. There was no gender on Cybertron.

Indeed. She wasn't a male before becoming female, she, like all Cybertronians, were genderless. She only became a she when Jhiaxus ran his perverted experiments.

Yes but either way future female characters are unlikely.

As previously stated, and hell, as stated in the damn issue this takes place, Cybertronians had no gender. Not male, not female. It was a concept they didn't even have. Jhiaxus' introduced the concept of gender when he experimented on Arcee.

Why was this such a difficult thing for TF readers to understand?

Dear Simon Furman and all other Transformers writers: Please remember the maturity and intelligence of your audience when you write stories.

Correct me if I'm wrong but I don't think it was ever said that she was the only experiment he had. There could have been others. Actually it makes more sense that way IMO because it gives them a bigger reason to develop gendered pronouns. If there's only one exception to their default term I don't think most would be using them.

You're right -he never explicitly states that Arcee is the only one.
But, considering the time that Jhiaxus was in the Dead Universe, it does make the appearance of the other Femme Bots hard to place in continuity.

Yeah, and I can kind of see Simon Furman expecting there to be years worth of debate on Spotlight: Arcee anyway.

Reading #22 now and there are female-looking bots all over the place in the backgrounds.

Never was a fan of Furman's various takes on why there are female robots. Bungled every last one of them.

I could be wrong, but isnt one of the bots in Drift mini a "female". I think its the one that asks "why are you doing this?" near the end. In addition to the others you already stated, such as Ariel/Elita with Orion at the funeral thing in Megs Origin....

So what would Tracks be then? Just kidding
