Ebay's cracking down, due to the Virginia tech incident. There was speculation that he got some of his guns on ebay, which ebay has denied. They said he only purchased a gun holster and ammo casings.

Well, that really sucks! Good thing I am not in the market for MP Megatron anymore or G1 megatron, having a vintage misb be version and the original reissue misb as well  

 

It's very simple. Contest the pulling of the auction.

Even IF the reissues and Masterpiece are illegal (and that is still HIGHLY debatable, especially with the Masterpiece being so large as to easily be a novelty - it's like a 5 year old holding a Desert Eagle unless you're a very large person in more than girth), the originals are NOT illegal, and are actually specifically excluded from the code everyone loves to bring up.

 

There are still plenty out there...all though there seem to more BIN auctions then before because people are trying to get them sold before the auction gets remove. Who knows may make for some cheap Megatrons out there...G1 and MP. After all, people who don't have actual storefronts can't get stuck with a ton of merchandise they can't move.

Already have my MISB MP5, so I am golden.

 

So I guess that means we will have to order with online stores for the next un-moddified Re-reissue Megs. Hopefully by the time they come out some of the Virginia tech paranoia will have died down and they will have less enforcement.

Either way expect prices to skyrocket once the news starts hitting mainstream AND movie hype gets closer to July 4th.

Does this have to do with the recent VaTech shootings, and the shooter supposedly buying his bullets or whatever on ebay?

 

Or, if you were really devious, just post your auction in the UK eBay site, no restrictions there. (www.eBay.co.uk)

Plenty of overseas seller post in there, like from Hong Kong and other parts of the far East, I'm sure you Americans can host too, and just mention in the auction somewhere that Megatron is in hand in the US.

 

A few years back, eBay went to town on people selling Switchblades and Butterfly Knives. For several months you couldn't find either on eBay at all, and now they're almost as common place there as they were before.

They forgot about the knives, and in time they'll forget about Megatron too. The place has grown too large for them the police it properly for an extended period of time.

Hell, it'd be funny if the ban wasn't so impotent on the real issue. I would have thought that having idiots buy toy guns to hold up liqour stores with would be beneficial to society - no one gets hurt, except perhaps the criminal who gets a shotgun up his ass.

When are people going to wake up and realise this isn't the 1800's anymore, no one *needs* a gun, unless it turns into an evil robotic overlord. Tch, obvious really...

 

My modded Megs from HLJ was shipped a couple of weeks ago and it hasn't arrived yet.
(usually I get the packages a week after shipping, from HLJ.. It's been 3 weeks now)
Ah well.. I guess customs are taking em regardless of orange capped or not.

 

well i bought a megatron reissue a while back, about 2004, and i went and looked at the barrell mine never had a plug, blaze orange or otherwise does that mean i got something special here or what?

eBay banning the sale of Unmodded Megatrons

I don't know if this will help anyone, but I did a search on eBay just using 'Masterpiece Megatron' as a description and it pulled up 42 entries. A good number of them were listed with the words 'this has the unmodified tip' in the description.

 

man that sucks for ebay buyers who can't find a g1 megatron in their area.

though having the gun modified isn't as bad as it seems. i bought mine modified and the orange cap was easily removable.
