I just popped onto ebay for a quick NYCC search and saw the new logo. I thought I went to the wrong site at first. When did this happen?

The original logo was better. I too thought maybe something was wrong for a sec the first time I noticed it. But no, its just "updated".

Bleh, the new one looks like it has had its soul sucked out of it.

Much like the site it represents, then.

Known this was coming for a few weeks. I really hate the Hey-Lets-Type-Out-Our-Name-With-Arial-Or-Another-Simplistic-Sanserif-Font-And-Call-It-A-Day school of logo "design."

It's not like their original logo was some superspecialawesome triumph of creativity or anything.

It had the benefit of being recognizable all over the world.

Honestly I hate rebranding in general because organizations that do it are trying to look different when they should be trying to _be_ different. Like Comcast, who earned a negative reputation and opted for the short-term solution of hiding under the new Xfinity brand rather than the long-term solution of fixing their actual problems. Sooner or later they'll soil that brand and rebrand again to Zoomtastic or Radicalnet and then years down the line some dim bulb marketer or executive is going to wonder why they don't have any brand recognition.

Yesterday it was still the old logo. The new one must be an error.

I like the new one. It looks clean and modern.
