Continuing to work on this guy from SMOG's idea, I've put click points in the waist where the roof tabs into for robot mode. This locks the roof in secure for bot mode. I then put a few neo magnets in the roof for multiple display options with the roof/chestpiece/tape deck. You can display him with the chestpiece I created, or have the original G1 laserbeak attach (he's diecast metal on the red parts:) ) whichever you prefer. I also have his shoulder launcher almost done. This is the Mechtech weapon you get with DOTM deluxe SW, just modded with a neo magnet which can have it attach to the hood/shoulder in bot mode, and to the top of the roof for car mode- currently working on making it work for tape deck mode (see SMOG's original post for this mode). Have a piece of plastic tubing cut to size, which holds the mechtech open for the radar mode. So far everything's going smoothly and I should be able to start painting him up this weekend. Let me know what you guys think so far. Cheers

    Thanks for the support guys!

Hands are from a MP Seeker mold. You can get even better versions of these in Fakebusker83's online Shapeways store:)

Lookin' good, man! I like the way you can attach Laserbeak to the chest. Where is that chest portion from, anyway?

Really cool! Torso shortened(that little yellow layer) and new arms might be good.

Thanks, I did not notice that at first, they fit the size of the fore arm perfectly, now my RB can have articulated hands :)

    Thanks guys!

Yeah, these hands are perfect for this mold and tuck away perfectly for alt mode. I've used them many times before for various other projects with this guy- MP scale Swindle, 2 Voyager scale Impactor's, and a Roadbuster. A tip- Cut the original hands down to the base (leave about 3/16 of an inch left) and this will give you an excellent base to epoxy the new hands to. The epoxy will make it a solid connection and you'll retain full original wrist movement with very little trouble getting there. I use the $1 single use 2-part epoxy (that's what it's called, but you can get many uses out of it) I get at my local Big Lots outlet, works fine.

Was hoping to start painting this guy today, but it's a rainy day here in coastal NC. Going to go look at a house (we're in the market for a new home!), then hope the sun comes out later:)

Not sure whether to take that as a compliment? Thanks, I guess....

If it helps, think of him more as a Heartmaster maybe.....There is a spot that the tape forms can slide into behind his chest as well.

It was certainly meant to be complimentary. And I love that it has the option for either/or.

But I'm blank on the base figure. What is it?

    Ah OK, cool man! Thanks!

It was a Iron man TF Crossover humvee. I recommend people use the Cap version of this mold though for a SW custom. Reason being, You'd always like to start with a base close to what you're going to be painting the figure. I always like to anyhow, but I got the IM Humvee at $6 from Ross so I couldn't pass it up! More soon!
